The point of hard mode is either extra bragging rights on a good score, or an excuse for a poor score. That's why I play that way, anyway. ;)

If that's your internal motivation for playing in the "hard mode," that's great but FWIW I do not view Wordle as a competition with others. It's like target shooting to me. My objective is to do the best that I can do but what anyone else does is irrelevant to me.

On the other hand, it's nice to "share" your experience with the game & how you stand relative to others. That's human nature & that's the reason that I created this thread. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩.

I don't use anything to help solve. Keeping track of used words would really help but it's fun regardless...

I have two words, one that always goes first and one that sometimes goes second if the first one doesn't help much.

30% of my games are solved in 4
25% in 5

The rest are a mix of lucky and not so lucky guesses.

It's a fun game for a break everyday!

I'm not entirely serious. Doing wordle is just a little mental exercise to get my brain started in the mornings. If I really cared about the score, I'd spend more time analyzing which words eliminate the most options, etc.

My daily routine: 'Wordle' is like morning coffee.
I play "Connections" after lunch as an afternoon mental stretch.
Then "Strands" as a relaxing wind-down in the evening.

My fiancee and I usually try all three in the morning and then share them as we finish. Strands took me once or twice to figure out how it worked, but I got the hang of it now. Connections has been hard the last couple days.

I'm usually good with Connections, although every now and then one trips me up completely. I'm pissed that they started keeping track of score and included older games when I didn't know it made a difference. That sort of data should begin when they tell you. I try harder knowing that there are streaks and records now. Currently at 24.

Strands is frustrating at times. There have been a couple that I just had no idea what the theme was and couldn't get my foot in the door. But there is a finite amount of time I'm willing to stare at a glorified word hunt. But it is something to do for a few minutes if I'm sitting somewhere with time to kill.

I see nobody mentioned Spelling Bee. That's another game that I'll typically go for Genius level in, which can take a while. But I only ever play when the Genius level is below like 110. Anything higher than that requires an amount of time and energy that I simply don't have.

I won't do Spelling Bee because it's limited unless you have a paying account, but it is fun.
