3rd guess limited choices to just 2 but,
of course, didn't think of the other.
The current NYT average is 3.9.

Just the 1st word that occured to me but
WordleBot was there were at least 10 others! LOL!
The final NYT average was 4.3.

I've departed from Sgt1372's strategy and am picking my second word based on letters in the first unless I get totally skunked on my first try. I'm coming to think that the most efficient guessing uses each letter space to find out something you didn't know before- identifying a new letter or trying to narrow down the location of a known yellow letter. It saved me a guess this time to finish in three.

Almost got it in 3. Par is fine.
The current NYT average is 3.7 which suggests
that it is NOT that difficult for most.

Using my approach, careful selection of the 3rd word
is the key to the solution when only 1-2 letters are
revealed, especially if they're not green.
The letters that I try to use in the 3rd word are
usually G, C, L, K & N which often are the means
to the solution as they were here and above.
The only other possibility was CLIMB which did not
occur to me because it did not make use of the
other letters above. If CLING wasn't the solution then
CLIMB would have been the only other a choice,
which would have resulted in a Bogey instead.
The final NYT average was 3.9 which also suggests

Super unhappy about this one. Would have gotten it in six if I hadn't wasted the second guess, should have stuck with my new strategy. Unfortunately with the three letters I had at guess three there were at least four words.
