On the Road Again with Merle

So went and visited my folks in Sonoma to catch end of the rally (in our modern car with roof), then took them out to lunch at Hop Monk, a local North SF Bay Area brewery, eatery and music venue. There are two in Sonoma County and another in Marin.

…and then sat and had a visit in their backyard (yard I grew up in)…my dads quite a carver, all hand tools.

…and then on way home my wife and I stopped for another beer at Ernie’s Tin Bar…had to be stealthy for taking photo, there is a rule (its posted) that if you use a cell phone, you buy a round for the house.

Merle is helping repackage the Bunny I received for a swap…I had ordered hastily on the first day thinking the gold membership requirement had been dropped. I noticed my error almost immediately and notified Spark to cancel my order. I did not want to be one of those people that made things so ugly last year (undeserving owner). I tried to confirm cancellation but was unsuccessful and the Bunny arrived anyway. Its going to a qualified platinum member and I’m getting the Bunny’s pink sibling in return. Although the whole BF86 fiasco left a bad taste in my mouth (exacerbated by also getting one of the white ones for which I received less than kind messages) the BF86 is an all time great, perhaps the pinnacle of the BF releases, and Merle’s presence alone and what he represents makes me happy (kind of a sappy, long-winded message but hey, its the truth).
