Jack, I wish you well in your recovery. After communicating via e-mail, I never realized how nasty it was until you referenced this thread.
Once you are better, I will to take you up on that "fighter" offer for my eldest. I'm sure you have a back log of requests, so when you're up to it...drop me a line so we can work out the details. I've enjoyed our projects, and you are definitely my favorite maker here on the forums.
BTW: the A2 tanto you made me came in handy (no kills with it as of yet) during a self help project on Balad. I trimmed the edges of numerous plywood boards because the files were total crap. It got rid of all the cutting splinters with ease. I decided to bevel the blade edge a little with my sharpmaker diamond stones, then use the 40 degree angle and finally used the med/fine/ultra fine stones for a razor sharp edge that is tough as hell. The heat/cryo treatment has really allowed this steel to shine. thanks again!
