One Hand Opening/Clipped 110's?

I've got a custom 110 sitting on my dresser that I absolutely love.
But, the thing that keeps me from carrying it is that it's not the most convenient knife to use.
Gotta wear a belt (I don't like wearing belts) to carry the sheath. Then to use it, I need 2 hands to open it.
So, instead, I usually reach for my Sebenza, which I merely clip onto my pocket and use, one handed when the need arises.
So, I was wondering if anybody customizes the 110 with pocket clips and one hand opening thumb studs.
And, no, I don't want to buy one of those screw on thumb studs.
In a perfect world, I'd like to have the blade drilled, tapped and have a thumb stud screwed in, real professional like.
I'd also like a nice pocket clip that complements the style of the 110.
So, who can do this work?
Thanks all.
Lenny

A 110 with a pocket clip is an interesting idea...I was looking at a 442 clip and thinking the same thing...but that clip only fastens with one screw...too flimsy, to my way of thinking...

I've never looked for an add-on clip...does anyone make one???

I've seen a pic somewhere here of a clip with 3 small screws...that could go on a 110 pretty easily, I would think...

Hmmmm...Kinda ugly looking... :(

How secure would a pocket clip be if it were screwed into brass? I wouldn't think it would be all that secure. :( :( Not to mention the lump a 110 would make clipped inside your pocket!

I've decided to like the 110 the way it is. It's heavy, it's old-fashioned and to some it even lacks the convenience that other modern folders offer. I don't like sheath carry a lot, too. but to me, a 110 is an 110. I will gladly accept its whole package. :)

You don't want to use a sheath, but if ya didn't mind wearing one, you can get one of those "quick draw" sheaths or whatever they're called. The only thing I don't like about 'em is that they wear the blade down where the rivet or whatever is used to pull the blade straight as you pull it out from the sheath.

Before we worry about that, we need to know how he keeps his pants up. No offense, but I don't wanna see any of you without pants. If you go belt-less and try carrying a 110, your pants will fall down.

I was thinking about buying a titanium 110 with a clip, (turns out on e-bay sometimes) then send it to the Buck factory, replace the blade with a one made from BG-42. This would be one excellent knife. If it wasn't for the pervertly high shipping prices, I would have done it a long time ago.

Lenny or Anybody Else Interested,

Steve Rice, STR here on the forums, can do the pocket clip/ thumbstud on your or anybody elses' buck 110.

I like old fashion just as much as anybody, but a modern 110 w/ modern carrying options isn't bad either.

I seriously want trying to be crude with that comment. :o It's just that the 110 is a pretty bulky knife to be stuffing into a front pocket. Clip or no clip.

I like that Buck with the clip. Great job.
Love the 110 but it is too big too carry in the pants.
Getting tired of being asked "is that a 110 in your pocket, or are you jsut happy to see me?". And then I have to answer "my 110 is on my belt".
Image the questions if a Buck 277/9 was carried the pants pocket. Never would leave the bar alone.
:p

have you consitered a buck lite? full grip and light also easy to put a clip on also!!! what is not to like there?

Someone with a 2002 catalog on disc post a pic of a 886 Mini Taclite. Low weight, ATS-34, G-10 handle, clip. Sounds like it fits his bill.

Good luck. I just tried a HSS cutter on a 442 blade...it ate the cutter... :grumpy:

Hello bob7...

That is the cat's meow! Is that a 560?
Would like to get one just like the pic, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

IIRC, there was a pic on here lately of a factory 560 w/clip; removable/ambidextrous; that stuck up more than that one (That's one of Steve's, isn't it???).

The BG-42 blade is a nice touch... :)

I guess the only place to get a 560 anymore is on the sales forums (unlikely) or on Ebay (likely, but expensive).
