One lucky SOB reporting!! That one is coming to me and I'm THRILLED!!
Thanks for posting the pic Joe and for also turning me to Jason regarding these a while back!!
Joe - other than the Warenski Khukri, that is the finest example of one that I have ever seen - period.
WARNING - WARNING - WARNING
Joe, your reputation is at stake - a project is a MUST!!
Bob
EDIT: I just GOTTA have me one o' them!!
Ohhhh man!!! I don't have a kukri but I've got to have one of these! Crazy wicked! Jason and Joe...don't make us beg!
How was that for quick reply Joe?
Bob and Doug and the rest that would want to see a project.
I am trying, let me know who would be interested and I will see what I can do.
I spent some time with this knife today..it is easily the best kuk I have ever handled. Jason cracked the code on the blade and the handle. Everyone who saw it desired it.
Oh my! Don't get me wrong JOE!.. This piece actually inspired me too talk to Jason about the original project and what made me insist on the fuller s
And yes I know that the DC has two fuller s and the one that he made me has actually 4 , but I am speaking about feel and balance
Both Khuks this new one and my own both have sharpened clips something neither piece we are discussing has.
Again im a big HI fan and have bought plenty but It in not very fair to compare this piece to anything from HI. It is two different worlds and to compare a 100 dollar blade to a couple thousand dollar blade is not fair.
It would be like taking a HI sword and putting it against a high end katana from someone like Howard Clark or Phil Hartsfield ..
Oh my! Don't get me wrong JOE!
I'm not comparing between the HI's and Jason's at all!
There's a vast of differences between those two in terms of the technology of the making, the steel used, the total design, the heat treatment technique, the finishing, the feel and the balance, the pricing etc etc.
I know most of that and that's the main reason why it's very very improper for anybody to compare HI's against Jason's!
Actually what I'm just trying to do is to categorize the model of Jason's khuk and that's all!
Where the basic feature in Jason's khuk is an ek chirra!
And one of the ek chirra in HI is Gelbu Special!
And I did mention that Jason's has enhance features (i.e. the sharpened clips etc)!
It's just like to categorize a knife either it's a South Western Bowie or a Scagel or a Nessmuk with enhance features!
Is it wrong to say that one of Don Fogg's knife is basically a Broken Back Seax?
Is it belittling when I say that one of Al Pendray's knife is basically a Keris?
Is it comparing if I say one of Wheeler's knife is basically a Golok?
Please Joe, Jason is a great knife maker and he's a MS!
I'm not belittling him at all and in fact I'm hoping to get one of his works one of this days!
Please Joe, you are a great collectors and you have all those great knives made by great makers like Bagwell, Fowler, Burt Foster, Shiva Ki and many many more!
I'm not belittling you at all Joe, please!
Anyhow if you feel that my postings (i.e. the previous and this one as well) are improper than just let me know and of course I can edit it back and no prob!
Serious, no hard feeling at all on my side
