One knife

I am going for the Keffeler Silverback Next!! Another good lightweight choice (weight is less than 18 ounces) Nearly 10 inch blade is the Carothers light Chopper

If being practical, my Swatmandu, B8 or satin battle rat could do whatever needs to be done.
ASHBM would work especially in colder climates.
NMFSH is the most efficient chopper in my hands, there's just something about the balance and grip that make extremely fast. Snappy. and it performs well enough at other knifelike tasks well.
Or that unnamed recurved combat/fighter from back in the day; hand shaped magnum micarta Tac handles, full convex zero grind regrind by Garth. Hm.
Satin Battle Rat FTW!!! Most performance per oz IMO.

I been thinking about it a bit lately, and as much as i like NMFSH i think on longer hikes Uphill, it might be a bit much,
I think i came to the conclusion that ASH-1 LE would be my 1 perfect on the go blade, maybe the UF or UG LE will change that whenever they get here.

I had that 2007 SE ASH-1 And at the time i thought handle was ok, but i cant believe how much nicer Mag LE handle feels in hand, (i believe the blades are same thickness ).

When I chose the B11, SHBM or B9, I was assuming chopping would be necessary for firewood and/or shelter, and I tried to keep the weight reasonable. There are some other knives I really like but felt they are either too light for chopping efficiency or too heavy for carrying and most other tasks.

I agree with Voracious about the Battle Rat - I think it would be a good choice too.

Thank you! They are indeed Awesome, and the Battle Saw is a great choice also-I have one (Battle Saw) being stripped, Convex Grind, Bead Blasted, and Sharpened by Josh at Razor's edge knives!!!

Man - it is cool to see others out there. I knew this knife would be a user/keeper for life when I ran across it, and it is literally the perfect knife in many, many respects...

It is about .26-ish stock and it is so freaking light in hand. Can use for a spear, tool, fighter, skinner, not too much pommel, and with a birds beak, good for cracking open stuff, splitter, not a heavy chopper and in a wetter environment on aforementioned island, likely a good enough chopper...and you can choke up and carve names in as many trees as you want with good penmanship...

Others that come to mind would be: BWMLE and ZTBM...or the banned .24 NMFBM I sold (for some reason)...have a .25, I guess that's why...still questioning that sale. The guy loves it though so thats all good.

If I thought I was in a situation where I would be constantly on the move, trying to get to an objective ASAP, I'd carry my TGLB. If mobility/weight wasn't as much of an issue, it would be the KZ2.

Probably this one. :) But if nobody was looking I'd have an RMJ Kestrel and a Glock somewhere close by. :)

I love the axe too :D
I regret selling mine ... :(
One of the most comfortable handles ive ever used
