One of the sharpest knives i've ever seen!

Not impressed with this forum. You have more replies about a video then which knife is considered a better purchase. I've submitted questions about two top of the line knives and no one replies. Maybe next time I'll post a video...

Post links so we know what you're talking about. Sometimes threads go without notice. It's just the way it is when you're dealing with a large forum. No need to get the panties in a bunch.

If it has to do with the Chris Reeve Mountaineer 1&2 you're asking about then you'd be better off asking in the Chris Reeve subforum.

If you're asking about the Spyderco Perrin then you would be better asking about that knife in the Spyderco subforum.

The Knife Testing and Reviews section is for reviews. That subforum is not for comparisons. If you want to find comparisons of the two knives you're asking about you should start in each knive's individual subforum and get information about the two and then come to your own conclusion on what knife would be best for you. You can base this on blade material, length, thickness, the type of handle material it uses, the type of sheath it comes with or can be purchased for it, and what you're going to be using the knife for.

Not everything on these forums are as easy as "tell me which knife I should get". If that was the case everyone would own nothing but Busse, Sebenzas, and Striders.

Sometimes answers aren't just handed to you on a silver platter and you have to do a little of your own work to come to a decision.

Maybe we don't have any experience with the knives in question. Not everyone has used every knife. Everyone in this thread has seen that video, however, so we can all comment about it.

And yea links would help.

Okay, i'm sorry i said sumthin about not liking people being technical. I actually do, just not when i ruins the fun of the post/video.

Great idea! Maybe you ought to do a review of this forum in your video ;).

I would have to agree that blade geometry is critical, but not so much his technique. If you watch that video again you will notice that the cut is more of a 'push' cut than anything with a 'sawing' motion. So along with the edge geometry I would think there needs to be a fairly sharp knife in motion there. Just my 2 cents.

This seems destined for W&C sooner or later, specially after Davor's complaint.

If a kindly mod would kindly exercise his modly powers...

That first cut was pretty impressive...

I was really hoping he would make the second one though. Now THAT would have been something.

You guys "pooh-pooh" that video....

Just wait until you are attacked by a roving gang of violent liter plastic water bottles! Then you'll wish your knife could do that!

Cutting through that many bottles is really tough. My cutting technique sucks.
Most I got through was two and that was with a sword. Don't laugh! I know,
I need a lot more practice.
