One saw to rule them all

problem i have with a lot of the pocket or hiking saws, is the teeth gum up and fill up quickly when i'm fatwood hunting. I need a saw that has a very thick rigid blade, with massive gullets and a wide offset to prevent jamming/binding in resionous wood.

still have not found one to my specs.....9 saws later...

aw, see, i've found the problem, you're TALKING ABOUT FATWOOD AGAIN :) that's it! :)

it's not fat wood, it's just big boned

And it's not the wood's fault---it's societal pressure that causes it to overindulge.

That is a great mod on the blade! That migh be the largest folding saw I have seen. Is that a pair you would head for the hills with?

He11 yes it is. I have been using that saw all week and it's definitely worth the small weight increase. The big back breaker trap I make tomorrow (other thread) will require a big saw and thats gonna do the trick.
