I personally made my first ever visit to the 1SKS about an hour ago. I had a great time, Mr Spark is a fine *gentleman, his shop has a great collection of blades and the service was great.

* (Well except for showing me a knife I just had to buy, but that is my fault. :D )

Sometimes we buyers of things sharp need to take a deep breath and have a steaming hot cup of of patience. We need to take good care of our dealers and knife makers. They really do want us all to get the knife we want and for us to be satisfied with our purchase. If we burn up their time/money one day they won't be there when we need them.

I agree and it was good to meet you and the other 2 BF members while I was there today. I wish I could have stayed and visited a bit longer. It is a double edged sword to have such an inventory of sharp stuff less than a mile from your house, though. Impulse buys become a lot easier. :D

The same here, thanks! Wow, 4,224 feet to a knife store would spell doom for my back account.

No doubt. You saw me hand him money, right? That was for an Kabar Tac Tool I became aware of and had in my hand within a 10 minute span of time the other day. Great for instant gratification but bad for the bank account. :)

Money? I saw n o t h i n g!

I usually just get Panda wound up, half the reason I go there is to play with that fat woof

He sure got my attention when he greeted me at the door.

Nice meeting you guys as well! Shooting the breeze with a couple fellow BF members made for a pretty good day. It is a real treat to have a well stocked shop with a knowledgeable owner like Spark to go check out blades.

Went back 1SKS today, got past the Panda and looked at a long list of fantastic knives. After showing them Kevin suggested I might want to hold off on my decision, imagine that, not trying to take my money?

Finally, he relented, (I think he wanted to get to the lunch he had waiting for him.), and I walked out with another fine addition to my collection.

Easiest way to get past Panda is to have him 3 plain hamburgers from Burger King, he loves them, don't forget Buddy needs one to :)
