One Stop Knife Shop

My experience is that anything from them will take significantly longer than from some other places. I live in Seattle, one of the furthest places from Jacksonville. I'm a cheapskate, and always opt for the $5 UPS ground.

I buy things from them, because it helps to support bladeforums. If there's something I need, and I need it right away, I usually order from someone else. If it's something that I'm not totally in a rush for then I order it from them.

I have ordered only 4 Items from them. Fair price and fast delivery, one item was BO and my e-mail inquiry for update was answered immediately.

The prices may be a few % higher however, these guys own and fund the Blade Forums site which I visit every day.

I've had very good service from 1SKS. Like most of the Internet "E-Order" sites, they are young, and are going through the growing pain stages of increased volume without enough infrastructure to fully support it. Just like anything else, a phone call to them clears things up promptly. They own and operate this forum as well, which is a considerable financial drain on the business. If you need something fast, and they have it in stock, like everyone else, they'll ship it right out to you. I like to use UPS 2nd or 3rd day air. It costs just a bit more, but tracks very well and doesn't take 1.5 weeks to get here!

I have ordered a couple of knives through them without any real problems. The prices are pretty good and as it was all ready stated, all sales support Bladeforums.com.
The Mike and Spark show also price match. That way if you have your eye on something at another website, see if 1SKS will match or beat their price. Good Luck.

I've bought from 1SKS and quite a few other internet companies before, mainly because the local "knife" shops don't carry the stuff I want (possibly with the exception of the more commmon Spyderco knives).

1SKS is almost a pleasure to deal with. Understand that they are a small company and that with their phenomenal growth, they have not been able to keep pace with demands on manpower.

I do not want to go into details here, though you can email me if you want it. Suffice to say that they had difficulty answering emails. Sometimes I would write them, wait for several days with no reply then write them again before getting a reply.

The other point that detracted from their customer service was that they did not tell me that they were out of stock of one of the items when I first emailed them with the order. Understandably, they did not have my money in hand, nor a credit card number, so someone else may have purchased that last knife while my money order was in transit. As a result, I had to wait about 3 months before receiving my order.

On receiving my money order, they didn't tell me about it being out of stock. 2 anxious weeks later with no sign of my order, I wrote them asking if they had got it. No answer. A few days after that, I wrote again and finally received a reply to tell me that they were awaiting new stock. But they neglected to tell me about the expected waiting time.

So after what I thought was a decent interval (2 weeks), I wrote them again asking about the status of the order. Let's just say that many times I had to write twice before I would get a reply. But finally, after a long, anxious and frustrating wait, I finally received my order. And everything was as prescribed and in good condition. Nothing missing. I believe Mike may even have opened up the Kershaw Boa I ordered to check that the mechanism was in good tune, as evidenced by the broken seal on the plastic wrapper.

Anyway, as I said, they are good, almost a pleasure to deal with but there are some points for improvement. And you have to try and be really patient when dealing with them, seeing that they are understaffed and can't afford to hire more people since they also have to run this forum.

After making one last phone call, I cancelled the order to One Stop Kife Shop. Maybe I'll give them another try, however not for something that I'm in a hurry to get.

I've had good experiences with them. They were quick to send and respond to emails. I wouldn't hesistate to deal with them. Great guys.

I have bought a BUNCH of knives from Mike--I started buying from 1SKS when it was just getting started--I have NEVER had a problem with sales or service--had a problem with a MT S/E once and Mike swapped it out for me pronto--no questions asked--and I think I was past the 30-day window! I do always call my orders in and all dealings take place over the phone--I'm sure this helps.

I too have purchased knives from 1sks. Deals are very smooth. Never a problem.

Their prices are among the best available. Overall, if you shop there, you will not overpay.

There's a high comfort level with them too since I know who I'm dealing with.

My only complaint is that they always ship via UPS even if you ask for another carrier. I think that's just a characteristic of how their computers are set up.

Otherwise, I've bought three knives from them and am very pleased with all three. I was especially pleased when my new Nimravus came out of the box as a numbered pre-production piece at the regular price.

I've ordered from 1SKS once. One of the knives sent was wrong. I called and spoke with Spark and got it cleared up right away. I sent back the wrong knife and they sent me the right one. Good service IMO. The only reason I haven't ordered from them again is that I'm broke

They are slow to answer emails, I don't know why they don't hire more help, but if you call them up you will get your answer right away. I'll order from them again.

In the past year I have purchased 5 items from 1SKS and while their shipping "ain't the quickest", they carry virtually everything, and frankly you would be hard-pressed to find better prices.
(Now if only my Hatch Gloves would get here!)

Ordered an LCC a month ago and recieved it in 3 days with no optional additional deliveriy method. Worked for me. Dave

I've bought two knives from 1sks, and have another preordered. Going to place another order today or tomorrow (having to decide on a blade option...decisions, decisions).

No problems w/1sks so far, and I'm happy to support these forums.
