Nice! I got one of these last year and honetly it's stopped me from getting more expensive watches since it's so cool. I look at a new watch and if it won't bump this I keep walking.

I've been through hundreds of watches and to a lesser degree knives. If $1K was my budget..maybe these two which I am very happy with. Would place you under budget...The Hamilton is classic and can be picked up for under $400 with a Retail of $745.00

The 2 Saints Paris folder Made in France, it's around $500.00 with very competitive prices in the US. 3.7 inch blade and flips with ZERO wrist action, under 5oz and feels as nice as a Holt Specter.

Pretty much what I spent a few years ago on my current EDC set-up.

Victorinox Officer's Automatic 241371, Victorinox Cadet, CRK Small Sebenza 21 Insingo

If I had to start over today, the only thing that would change is the watch since mine's been disco'd. I'd buy another Vic or maybe a Tissot.

You could also look at some of the newer micro brands using OEM Seiko movements . As much as I love Seiko , some of the micro brands are very tempting for the price and specs.

On a glance it seems like CRK and Seiko are head and shoulders above the rest.

It's a Porsche Design 70s homage. I'm probably going to order it in black. The PD has a 7750 movement in it and weighs a brick vs the Dan Henry.

There is no way that combo can be had for under $10,000! Never mind under $1K

Why do you care about whether it can be had for under 10k or under 1k?

Ah, disregard - I see now in the OP, stated budget was 1k total.

OP: for the watch, recommend you decide whether you want an Automatic watch first. That will drive better recommendations. For example, I would recommend a Garmin Fenix if (non-automatic) / smart watch. IF you want auto, you will be significantly limited by the $1k overall budget. If budget its fixed and auto is the preference, you might take a look at Marathon GSAR for around $600-$700 and then pick up a used CRK PJ Sebenza for around 300-400. That would be a very solid pair for sure.

I would get a CRK Mnandi, and let one of you Seiko experts help me buy a watch. I’m in the dark about watches. Something nice to go with the CRK.

My mother gave me the watch in 2012 I'm not sure who made them for LL Bean. The band was given to me by my grandfather in 1987 and the Buck Cadet my was a gift from my father years ago. Served me well [IMG]
