Onions?

I didn't mean to harsh you too much.... it just sounded off to me. Sorry about that.

On another note if there is indeed a gap that needs filling in the line-up, I sure wouldn't mind seeing your inline clips and/or designs on some Kershaw productions. That clip is as slick and innovative as anything I have seen.

No problem!
I didn't mean to 'dis' anyone but if it sounded that way, it's my fault.
Thanks for the kind words!:)

I'm fairly new to knives and currently own only one KO knife and I love my Needs Work. A Storm 2 is in the mail as well.

Best of luck to you Mr. Onion. Please continue to do some collaborations with major companies in the future so us poor folks can afford to buy your toys too! :D

The praise belongs to you Ken, and Kershaw for putting these high
quality folders into the average mans pockets.

Best of luck, Ken.

I'm very saddened to have confirmation of this news. As well off as I am, my access to KO customs is certainly inadequate (which, I suspect, is more the norm than the exception).

KO, you're a brilliant designer in the custom and in the production world.

Outside of law school, I'm a philosopher/logician, and I often find myself in the field of aesthetics. I constantly encounter people with an extremely narrow view of art. Many feel that only paintings, sculpture and photography can be art (which is complete nonsense). Essentially no one I encounter believes knives can constitute art.

When this occurs, I pull up your personal page and show them your customs. I have many rather sophisticated arguments against the narrow view of art, but being confronted by such beautiful designs is often enough for them to open their minds. That's how impressive the works of art you create are.

Please participate with Kershaw's production in the future so the rest of us can afford your knives still.

I wish you the best in whatever you do,
Brett

Thank You!! That is very kind of you to say. I love art and am a bit of a student of Fibionacci (Golden Ratio) ,Art noveau,Giger, old architecture ,to name a bit of my influences . I also love the study of ergonomics and body mechanics and try to merge these theorys and textures. Not always easy and not always succesful but always fun. Thanks for noticing!

I will continue designing and making knives and have been doing a lot of prototyping . I will still be in the industry and will be accessible.

I just realized, every Kershaw knife I own is a KO design. It all started with the Random Task.

As someone who applies the study of Fibonacci, Gann, Chaikian and other great observers of numbers, regression and retracement on a daily basis, I appreciate what you are saying Ken.

What really pisses me off is that if I want to obtain a Taboo, it's gonna cost me a small fortune now!

Seriously, I wish you the best in the future. Your designs are incredible. Thanks for the great run. Next time I'm on Oahu, can I give you a call? You look like someone I really need to party with. I'm buying!

Mahalo,

Cmon over and lets party! Thanks for the kudos and support!

Ken - I can't even begin to imagine all of the work you put in with Kershaw, but I can tell you that I appreciate the results very much. You and Kershaw have produced a lot of excellent products and I have gotten a great deal of enjoyment from owning & using them.

I wish you the best of luck with your future plans. I'm sure that whatever it is will bring good things for folks who love knives.

Regards,
Nathan

Ill be in Oahu in 2 weeks!

Thanks for all your contributions to Kershaw and the knife world Ken!

Damn I just saw this thread. I know it's late but Ken if you revisit this, most of my knives are kershaw/Onion designs. I carry at least one of those daily. And I for one really like the recurve type blades that you are so fond of designing.
I'll miss those Ken Onion designed Kershaws. I hope your split with Kershaw was on good terms.

Good Luck and be well !!!!

Herb
