Only 3

I’m curious as to why you choose both S45VN and S30V? I haven’t had any experience with S45VN yet but I feel like there going to be so close that one or the other would be just fine, no?
That one was a TOUGH call!
I love S30V: but I'm always touching up the edges...
S45VN holds an edge a whole lot longer; so I hope that it is a true improvement...

Probably M390, 3V & VG10, which each have different plus & minuses/price points and each is best suited for different uses/applications.

If you could only have knives/blades in 3 different steels what would those 3 steels be?
That implies that I could have ANY three knives I want . . .dso

I'd want a Chris Reeve large Sebenza 31 in S35VN or their latest steel, S40VN.

I'd want a Leatherman Wave in S35VN/S40VN too (OK, that would be a custom blade).

Don't quiite know about a third knife or a third steel . . . .thinking, maybe something in Magnacut.

AEB-L and 80CrV2

Honestly there is really nothing that I couldn’t do with just those two. For my purposes, all of my bases are covered. As a lover of carbon steel, I could add 52100, 1095, O1, or 5160 pretty much interchangeably as the third steel to the two above, but at that point it’s just for fun.
