Only Bark river passed knife tests !!!

I don't know what other knives or manufacturers were involved, but I do know it's quite an honor for Bark River!

Frankly, I'm not surprised.
Bark River make knives that are not only durable and high finish but they are extremely beautiful too and you get real pride of ownership.Giant choice as well.
It's a knife Mercedes:thumbup:

I would like to know if there were any Busse, Swamprat or Scrapyard knives in the mix !!!

It seems this group has a disdain for coated blades, so I doubt any coated blades were in the test.

Dealers have that new Bark River model in stock now. The prices are reasonable, but I think they'd look a bit better with natural handle materials, at least as an option.

Congrats to Bark River, they produce a first rate product made in the good old USA. It would be interesting to find out who the other players were. I'm not crazy about the thumb ramp but that's just me.

Maybe they weren't so hot about the coating anymore AFTER conducting the test? They requested modifications from BRKT, I doubt as minor a modification as the removal of the coating would prevent a knife from participating. I would think, many of the competitors simply did not cut as well, even though for us that would be a rather minor modification as well.

Congrats from me as well. Great knives for a very reasonable price by a company with truely stellar service and integrity.

Does anyone know what dealers have the Bravo-1? I just searched for five minutes and I couldn't find any.

If the BRKT was the only blade left in one piece, the competitors must have been brittle stainless blades, or poorly treated carbon.

Mike Stewart posted this on the 18th:

The Blades are in Heat Treat Right now and we will start actual production on them in about 3 or 4 weeks.

Edit: so they have been released, I see. Very nice looking blades.

The quote continued to say "....and still cutting". I assume some of the competitors weren't cutting very well to begin with.

Well they are prettier than the fallkniven f1 and a slightly better size for an all around knife. The 4.25" blade puts it right in the middle of the F1/S1 category. I guess I wonder how it actually performs. Perhaps some BFs member will really put it through the trenches...

I wonder how long it will take for this to turn into a "that test was BS because there is no way there could have been a Busse in it" thread?

Following the original link, I found Mike Stewart's comments on the other knives.

I actually don't know all of the Tests but they were all in the Field in Training Exercises and some in actual Ops.

They did give me a list of the other knives but I'm just not going to release that stuff.

They were Less the Diplomatic in their Descriptions of what they thought about some of the other knives and I would never repeat it.

I never criticize other knife companies.

All I'll say is that some of the names on the list did surprise me.

If--at some point--they want to release the list I'll have Clean hands.

I'm very happy that they chose Our knife.

He wasn't in on the test, didn't know it was taking place, and Bark River was added in at the last minute, anyway.

lol! funny guy! Dont quit your day job. I dont poke at others for thier knife choices, why take a cheap shot at Busse fans?

I'm very happy that Mike got the contract, he makes some very fine knives. :) Comment like yours just leave a bad taste, and turn a happy thing into a sad knee kicking contest. :(

Congratulations to Bark River. Obviously they make some of the best knives available.

That said, the results of the contest are of limited use without knowing who the other makers were (and were not). Kind of like naming of the winner of a secret marathon without divulging the names of the other competitors.

Without knowing that, speculation rules.

That test was BS because there is no way there could have been a Dark-Ops knife in there !!!!!:p
