Only One Knife...And Why?

Right now I would go with my Para 2, but that choice is subject to change.

Smatchet. Because it's a Smatchet. Case closed.

That's a tough one.... are you talking about only one knife to own, or only one knife I have to choose to be my EDC? If I can only own one knife, it would be my spyderco chinook 2. If I can only carry one EDC out of my whole collection, it would probably be my large sebenza insingo.

A month ago I would have said my Spartan Enyo necker for reasons that I can't explain. It's just pretty cool looking to me and I wear it every day.

Today my choice would be my Umnumzaan because I am convinced it is the most solid folder that I own and it can serve a number of different roles.

Next week it might be something else. :D

If I had to choose from one already in my collection, it would be my plain jane Spyderco Delica 4. However, I plan to buy a Para 2 by the end of the year and that would probably be my choice if it was mine already.

I think i would have to say my Winkler Belt knife is the one i would keep. It’s my favorite knife by far.
The handle shape is perfect; blade length is just right for utility and weapons applications. The quality of this knife is just amazing, the sheath is perfect and allows for a variety of carry options (the sheath system is a big part of a good knife). It seem that this knife will be with me the rest of my life.

It would definitely have to be a fixed blade, folders would not be on my list because of the limitations they have.

My Ka Bar. Why? It was my first useable knife that I bought myself. Plus it performs great for what it is, and it has a lot of sentimental value.

ONE???

Dude! Man, I'm gonna need therapy!

Well, given that I can't take a fixed blade with me everywhere, I'm gonna have to compromise with a folder of some kind.

It has to be small enough for regular, everyday string/radish/salami/loose-thread/salad/apple jobs, and it has to be big enough to skin a deer.

The only folder I own that meets all these criteria is a Scandi-style folder, the EKA Swede 92.

I've used this knife in a wide variety of applications, and it just works.

I'm sure it will be a crummy shovel and a terrible crowbar, but it does okay as a scalpel and a kitchen knife and a box cutter.

I have great faith in this knife.

I presume that the "only one" rules also allow me to keep the spares I have for this one? It's only fair, you know . . .

:D

(Now, to be fair, I have a Case (large) Sod Buster, in CV or stainless, that would do all of these jobs, but it doesn't lock open, so the Swede gets the nod.)

The Strider SNG CC is my absolute favorite edc. Here is my video review why it is so good....
