Ontario Rat-1 owners question for you.

The Rat 1 is one of the few knives that can't be flicked out, period, even in the reverse grip. Only using the thumb studs.

In reverse grip, knife closed, i can, with a very vigorous wrist snap/jerk, cause the Rat-1 blade to come to a full open position. This has absolutely nothing to do with the thumb studs. I can also do that with my Zt0200, Spyderco Tenacious, and some of my Kershaws.

No thumbstuds with no problem... probably means no import

Notice my girly kid arms, if I can do it I'd be surprised if customs couldn't.

I think it depends on how tightly its adjusted.

Mine was shipped so tight I needed two hands to open it.

Mine has been completely disassembled and reassembled from when I stripped the coating off it so I can't speak for factory, I do remember when I received it that it was tight enough that the thumbstud got my thumb sore after just a few openings... so it could be a very distinct possibility that you couldn't pop it open from factory, I guess it's all moot point though if customs already said it was a flick knife.

This has some of the toughest detents I've run across though, are there any one handed openers that could possibly NOT be considered flick knives in australia?

Thanks for the video! I was almost tempted to do a video myself just to prove to the doubters it can be done. Its even easier to do in reverse grip.
And my Rat-1 is factory stock, no mods, in near mint condition. Only ever used to cut some paper. I do like the knife just not a big fan of choils, lol).

If we don't start voting out the idiots that are running our country we will soon be in the same boat. As far as New York city goes it is already a foregin country and if it sunk nobody would miss it. I can say that because I am from New York State and I know how most of the state feels about NYC. Oh and I feel bad for the guy in Australia, if I was him I would leave.
