Ontario Rat Model 1 Folder D2 Carbon Fiber Limited Edition @ Knifeworks !

I just got mine and wow am I impressed! The f&f is perfect. Very smooth opening, perfect lock up, 0 lock stick, 0 blade play, very sharp, decent grinds, perfect centering and the list goes on. This is just awesome for $50 bucks.

I am very happy to say the least. Here are some pics.

I was just notified they oversold and are working with Ontario to get more if possible.,

Weird, did they not make all 800 at once or something? I ordered mine Friday and they just shipped it out today.

I am really glad I already got one of the regular handle ones, I pretty much for the CF version on impulse buy because I missed out last time they were out if stock so keep checking if you don't get one.

I had to try really hard not to grab this one. I know I'm gonna regret it!

Just got mine in the mail today. Very nice, wish I knew how to get my tan one's blade centered back perfect like this one. Only complaint is the blade grind is pretty off center.

After a few weeks of moderate use, mine finally was getting noticeably dull in a way that warranted more than a quick touch up. When I checked the angles with a sharpie/angle cube (and checked with calipers/triangle calculator), it was ground at over 19* on one side and under 11* on the other from the factory. Yeesh. Couple of hours later and it was fixed at 14* a side.

Still a good value at <$60 shipped based on the overall construction and materials, but this was my first (and hopefully last) disappointment with this knife.

I've had several new Benchmades and Spydercos that exhibit grinds that were off at least that much and they cost 2-3x the price of the Rat. QC costs money, and it's probably part of the reason they can keep the price so low. That said, I may still give one a try if I can ever find one. My KW order got cancelled due to "overselling".

Sure. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good value at $60, as I said above. Never care much about factory edges anyway, and was being a little peevish in complaining about something I was going to want to change one way or another.

Sorry your order got "oversold," though. Hopefully the success of these will convince them to do another run!

I have to agree- fit and finish are excellent. I happen to like D2. Edges are nicely contoured, no hot spots, tight lockup.

My wife is questioning why I pay so much more for ZT!!

I suspect I will be picking up a few standards to spread around in kit bags and autos.
