Easy task right? No problem!

Ever get that glue on the sides of the blade after opening packages? Sometimes it gets so funky that it hampers cutting. It's not always real easy to remove. I've found mineral oil can ease the removal.

Any other tips for the glue removal?

I use goo gone, it gets the blade completely clean in one or two passes

Balistol.

I've been known to use naphtha first for the really gummy stuff then Balistol.

Depends on the adhesive.
Some respond well to mineral spirits (paint thinner.)
Others respond well to Acetone or Isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) especially if you use the 99%.

edited to add: I usually start with rubbing alcohol. If that does not work, I'll try paint thinner, then acetone.

Lighter fluid, Goof-off. At work we have some kind of disinfectant wipes which contain alcohol, they seem to work well. Even Purell hand sanitizer will work considering it has a high alcohol content.

Wd40 or Goo gone, normally I just keep a wiping with the edge of my t-shirt till it's gone though, I don't carry them around with me :)
