The vibroloc does a pretty decent job of locking it. I wouldn’t use it for anything heavy duty but it’s a great slicer.Handled an Opinel #8 knife for first time today. Very sharp I want one but any one have problem with blades not locking.
So the vibroloc is the bright steel ring where the handle and blade meet. When blade is opened you twist the ring to lock the blade. The vibroloc does a pretty decent job of locking it. I wouldn’t use it for anything heavy duty but it’s a great slicer.
Correct, it can lock the blade open and closed. So the vibroloc is the bright steel ring where the handle and blade meet. When blade is opened you twist the ring to lock the blade.
My favorite Opinel is the limb saw, and I really appreciate that it locks closed.Correct, it can lock the blade open and closed.
I don't entirely disagreeOpinel is to folders what Mora is to fixies: Budget, Foreign and Quality.
(And I buy only American Made)
I just wanted to give a shout-out...
You won’t regret the 13. My kids call it the watermelon knife. Mine has been on many picnicsThe ring lock works fine and in a time when thick blades are all the rage, it's one of the thinnest, sliciest ones you'll find. I was cutting through thick blackberry bushes recently with my Opinel No. 15 Slim, to clear a footprint for a ladder, so I could pick fruit from a tree. I used it because it was what was in my pocket and it did an outstanding job. Some day, I'm going to have to embrace the madness and get a hold of an Opinel No. 13.

I currently use the Opinel No.15 Slim to slice open produce, up to and including cantaloupes and watermelons, for my chickens. Obviously, the No. 13 pocket rapier would make that a lot more fun.You won’t regret the 13. My kids call it the watermelon knife. Mine has been on many picnics
