Opinion Please, blade choice?

Goldie and I often have different views on the knives I design. I have designed a new stockman with my short, stubby, spay blade and a moderate Wharncliffe, the problem is between
- a recurved Clip blade with long pull and cut swedge and
- a Turkesh clilp. Please let me know what you think, maybe with your help I can change Goldie's mind or you may change my mind.
thanks for your help, A. G.

I have no use for recurves on a stockman. To me, a stockman is a working knife and a recurve really isn't a working blade. Recurves look pretty, but I don't find them useful.

my 2 cents, boss.

However, in order to maintain domestic tranquility, you should use Goldie's preference.:D

Well i think the recurve looks better, however all my stockmans are user blades, i use the wharncliffe for woodcarving mostly and the large recurve blade sticks out of the handle more than the turkish one. so for me the turkish would be way better. Good luck and nice knife!

I like a stockman for really sharp blades. The recurve is harder to sharpen so I don't want it on a stockman design.

On a pointed slip joint blade I don't want the point dropped below the axis of the blade pivot. If you use the point it increases the tendency for the blade to shut if you give the blade a forward cant. I don't want a forward cant on a stockman main blade.

I vote for Turkish clip blade. By the way, the spey and wharncliffe blades look really nice.

Why not do both? :)

Seriously, though, I think it depends on the overall effect you're going for with the knife. Without specs it's hard to tell, but if you're going for a more "heavy duty" folder I'd go with the shorter clipped blade (but lose the recurve). This seems to follow the utility nature of the spey and wharncliffe blades. If you're going for a more "edc" kind of knife, more "elegant," then I'd go with the turkish clip. Always struck me as a "gentleman's blade."

Just my two cents! You're the expert!
