Hand sanitizer isn't always better or as good as soap.
It doesn't remove things, just baths them in alcohol. So, if you have toxins or something like poison ivy on you the sanitizer will just move it around a bit but won't remove it.
Also, if you're filthy from weeks in the woods the sanitizer really isn't going to do much for you unless you remove the filth from your hands first.
Pet peeve of mine, people think it will do things that it can't do. Here, I keep having guys with fuel or oil on their hands using it to no avail.
