opinions on 'smasher' pommels

for a general woods bumming knife I not bothered with or without.

for a soldiers knife tho I like them providing its the right design, you can open bottles, pry open damaged ammo cans, smash glass, scrape gas plugs, etc etc,

JMHO tho
