Hi all,
I may be getting a Waved Endura soon and was wondering what everyone's opinon on them are?

Superb. Preferred SD carry in winter over the P'Kal due to penetration factor in heavy clothes.

Not a fan of waved models. I have NO intention of using a knife for SD so it's not useful for me.

I've heard a lot of good things about them though.

Good luck,

Brett

Don't have any waved models, Spyderco does a great job with them and what's not to like about an Endura, so power to you if like it. The Wave feature serves no useful purpose for me personally, the hole is enough for me, besides the fact that it is illegal where I reside:grumpy:

The Hole is for me. The Wave is for the other guy. But the only good Spyder is a Spyder.

I loved mine. I had to sell it recently because I needed the $$$. Waves aren't just for SD minded people, they also make great bottle openers. It was my favorite knife for watching fights and football with my friends.

<clip> they also make great bottle openers. <clip>
what he said...

Waved Enduras are great . I actually saved the few bucks and got creative with a few "regular" Endura 4's and made my own waves with a dremel and some careful hands. Gave me something to do and I was able to get that "new knife" feel after I finished my waves. Great for emergencies, SD, bottle openers, and impressing the guys (I'm the only knife nut out of my friends so even a "shiny" blade will get attention ).

I have three Endura 4's and I like the waved version the best. I might have someone like STR wave the other two to match. I think it looks more sheeple friendly than other tactical waved folders, but thats just my opinion.

I don't have mine anymore, but they're great. I had both, the waved Delica & Endura, I only have a regular Delica, now.

I had set mine up for left hand use, but put it in my right front pocket. Made a great "poor man's" P'Kal, lol.

I was recently considering it as well. Bought it, love it. I know you wonder if you will ever really use it but let me tell you, your pocket corners are done for. It is reliable and my namesake.

I carry my Endura with wave 'almost' every day to and from work, but not at work. Makes me want a waved delica...

It's the main knife I carry. If any cops ever ask me about the wave, I'll say it's a bottle opener. Just got mine back from spyderco, I used it so much that I couldn't clean the edge up enough even with diamond stones, and I'm not brave enought to try a belt sander or anything out.

I was carrying a regular endura, a mili, a caly zdp, a g10 byrd knife, in rotation before I got the waved endura. Now it's waved e4 all the time, unless I'm going somewhere fancy, then it's zdp caly.

Just buy one. The wave function will tear up your pants if you have some you where all the time and you open your knife a lot.

I really like my Waved Endura IV, so much so I bought the Waved Endura IV Trainer.

Just get a torx screwdriver so you can change clip location and keep the screws tightened down.

I have a waved delica, not an endura, but my feelings about it probably carry over. The wave certainly has SD applications but the things that make it good for SD are not unique to SD. My feeling about the wave is that it turns my folders into fixed blades but in half the space. I can't carry a fixed blade wherever I go (I never carry one, in fact) but I can (and do) carry my D4W most places. If I want to use a knife, I want the knife right now, no matter what it's for. I like carrying fixed blades because there's no additional step of opening the blade — it's just right there. I think the common assumption that the wave is for self defense is because the blade opens with the same sound as a switchblade, which some people find scary. But really it's useful for defense because the blade is right there when you need it and there's no extra step to get it open. Most people wouldn't look at someone carrying a maple-handled 3.5" hunting knife on their belt and assume it was for self defense. The E4W is just the same thing in a smaller package with a more high-tech handle material.

Never thought as using the "wave" as a bottle opener. Damn you people; my list is big enough without you adding wave models to it ;)

I just waved my SS Endura 4 about an hour ago and it looks and feels awsome :D. Looks even better than the "standard issue" waved enduras mainly because I didn't take off nearly as much of the blade as the manufactured ones. I'll try to find a camera tomorrow, I'm tired and going to hit the hay.

Had one of the earlier versions of the Endura with a wave (E3W in Spyderspeak) and thought it was nice, but I was too dumb to figure out pakal-style carrying and back-of-pocket waving wasn't for me. Now, I have a Delica 4 wave and a P'kal and they're the bees knees. I live one state South of TIZWIN, so thick winter clothes is less of a concern.
