Opinions on Zero Tolerance?

I really like the idea of a frame lock that beefy for the price. It's my answer to the "Striders are so expensive" dilemma. Are the 0301 and 0302 the only framelock models?

I only carry heavy folders in a belt sheath. They really don't bother me while hiking as any pistol (which I also carry) weighs as much or more.
I have a ZT0300 at the factory and hope to get it back soon. The assisted opening, on this model works well and I don't see where that's any sort of an issue, compared to non assisted. Just adds a bit of zing to the entire package.
I really like all sorts of knives, from thick/heavy to thin/light. I got this B/M 610 too (at the same-time as the ZT) and it's heavy at around 7.7 oz, but it offers a fantastic solid grip, sharp, well balanced and feels really nice on my side when I'm about 3 miles from home out in the woods. When the ZT gets back to me it will be alternated into my heavy-duty belt sheath woods carry.

Tighten the pivot screw. It shouldn't wobble like that. Maybe the screw was loose. This is the first time I've heard of the issue you posted.

It's either the pivot screw or you got a lemon (which, while rare, does happen). Depending on where you ordered from and what the issue is, you could send it in and get a new one. ZT will do that. So does Knifeworks, where I got mine.

I'd try the pivot first. Also, blue loctite works.

Tightening the pivot will fix you right up. Why would you want to use Flitz on a coated knife? They clean super easy and shouldnt rust at all...

how do you clean coated knives? never owned one... always prefered the plain metal

If you prefer plain metal, I'd return the knife while you can still get a full refund and get the knifeworks.com "exclusive" KW0350 which is satin finished.

As far as cleaning a coated blade: wipe it down with a wet towel. Then dry it and wipe a thin coat of oil on the blade.

EDIT: Did tightening the pivot screw fix your blade wobble?

It wasn't my knife, I haven't even purchased it yet. Im trying to find the perfect folder at the moment and i really loves striders so i wound up here

oooh ooh im loving that 350 you linked. What exactly is satin finished. sorry, feeling really nooby right now

From my understanding it's just the plain metal that's bead blasted with very fine media (read: something that has the consistency of flour). Different companies do satin finish in different ways. The Knife Works ZT blades are so nicely done that it almost looks like someone painted the blade. It's not mirror shiny, but it's also not dull. I suppose it has the texture of porcelain. That's the best way I can describe it.

It's nothing like the satin finish from like Benchmade, if you've ever seen it. Benchmade just looks like it's the blade that was just ground, and you see the scratches in the direction of the grinding wheel or stone.

ZT satin finish is very uniform without any "grain." I hope you can somewhat understand and picture what I'm trying to convey.

EDIT: See if you can spot the difference between the natural green g-10 0350 and mine with the smooth contoured g-10.

Then it's a tie, 3 "really"s on each side and everyone knows the tie goes to the knife. ;) How much does a guy really need to eat anyways? :)

Where's the guy that ate ramen for 6 months so he could afford a knife?

Hopefully it paid off and he didn't get a permanent condition from all that sodium and cholesterol.

Dekz, you really, really, really can't afford NOT to get one! ;-) At least that is I am thinking. I was in the same situation once and solved it by hiring out my son as cheap labor, and then hiring out my EX wife even cheaper. Don't think she appreciated it, but I got my knife!
