Opinions wanted!

Haha, I get it. I could give it a shot... It would have to be O1 steel as that's what I'm comfortable heat treating at home. It's a tough steel too!

It'll never cut anything..it'l go into a shadow box with my rack and a few other things

Really looks awesome man! You're blessed with some serious talent! I hope your talent leads to an awesome opportunity for you!

While the style may not be my cup of tea, it looks pretty darn good. Far better than my 7th knife looked.

I sure hope this project is going to be at no charge because doing business with the wrong membership and in the wrong forum wouldn't be a good thing.

Definitely not looking to sell or step on toes. I'm still getting the hang of this forum Morrow. Just wanted to get some opinions on my work! My apologies if I did something wrong.

And there has been no discussion of $ fwiw.

I'm aware. :) Consider my post a public service announcement.

Noted. Question though, I've tried posting questions in the knife makers section and it says I have no access to post there. How does one gain access. Figured you might know. Thx

You can't post in the Knifemaker's section of the Exchange because you don't have a knifemaker membership. The Exchange is where we conduct business (buying and selling) and you must have a paid membership to sell on this site. You can however post in the knifemaker discussion forums.

I like the blade shape. Less a fan of the etched fake "hamon" going on - but overall, good cutting shape and material selection.

I realized it looked as such after it was done. I wasn't really going for a fake hamon. I experimented with different designs and just ended up wanting something that was simple. First time using ferric chloride to etch too so it was all a learning curve. I appreciate the input though!

Very cool. Did you cast the pine cone yourself or buy it? Alumilite casting? If you did it, how did you prep the pinecone before casting other than stabilizing?

It's an interesting shape...

I like the pinecone handle. I've wanted to try that handle material for a while.

Did your plunge line go up too high and bite into the spine? It looks like that may have happened and you put that notch in the spine to cover it.
