Options for FB carry on a 4 day hike?

I carried my S1 on my pack in a Spec-ops sheath.I kept the empty kydex one on my belt so when I got to camp I jut switched it over.I gave the S1 as an example but I've done that with a few knives.

Interesting solution. I like it. I got to get me an S-1 and an A2.

Hey Psy-ops,

I think your primary fixed, either in the belt, with a baltric carry system or similar is going to be the best bet. It allows easy access to your blade, as well as keeps it out of the way.
Here is how I carry my RC6.

I carry it baltric, then just attach it to my belt loop, or a belt or a strap coming from you pack to keep it from dangling around. It works great for me.
This is what I would have of a 4 day'er.

I dont think huffing a chopper with you is going to be any benefit to you. Your not going to be logging alot of wood are you?
If not, a simple folding saw, a knife that can baton, and a folder for fine tasks is what I recommend.

Than again, if you want to play a little, take the outcast.:D

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, a cheap and easy way to make a dangler is with a short section of gutted paracord. After I tied the knot I glued the ends down.

psy-ops, I know you said a dangler isn't for you but for those that it does work for I thought I'd post this.

It is not so much about what knives as the carrying systems for them with a large pack.

Seeing that you have the F1, I would go horizontal on the pack belt--- no love-handle pokes that way :)

If you don't mind it on the shoulder strap, why not? Can't beat if for access. It looks a little on the Rambo side, but what the heck...

I have a Nite Ize holster than can fit over a hipbelt and carries an SAK Trekker with a small lanyard setup with firesteel, whistle, compass, spy capsule and Fenix E01. It snaps off, so I can put it on my pants belt when I'm away from the pack.
