That's a nice knife and sheath. Now you got me thinking about one of those again.

Merry Christmas to you and family!

Nice looking knife! I really like the sheath too. Nice matchup. I love how the black sheath back looks against the orange. You got a winner there!

Thanks Tim..email sent.
Thanksmtnfolk and SpearZ and you guys have a Merry Christmas as well!
scottang1... thanks, I was just messing around and kind of like how that turned out as well. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Just a heads up, I will be putting up a few more of these and the longer ones (4" cutting edge) soon (right before the new year) with varied handle colors.
Thanks,

markv...I have made a tanto version in the past and will again one of these days.
Mark Pointen...it is G10 and it is growing on me the more I use it.
Thanks for the nice comments!

Oh yeah I'd like one of those!! The orange is nice. Maybe a red one.....maroon perhaps. My alma-maters colors :D Orange is the evil empire in Austin!! :D

Jim,

If you do up one of these with a wharncliff blade, consider it sold :)

Thanks guys....after the holidays, I'll make up some variations of this with tanto and warny blades. I have some red G10 and Kydex coming as well.

I like tanto style knives myself will be interested in seeing them when they come out. Good stuff

Tanto, drop point and wharncliff my top three blade styles

i'm good for orange or red or blue or something i can see when i drop this
pup in the timber.:( and i like the wharnny just as much as tanto. both are fine blades.
you have something in this line.

stag & steel, D2 or O1 or 1095 is good for me, but i do like 154CM better than S30V.
i ain't picky just shootin' the breeze a little.
thanks for the reply. nice to know you are keepin' an eye on things.

Jim,

Good deal :)! What most makers miss is the right geometry for a wharny blade. Your piece here shows the cutting edge parallel but sufficiently lower vis-a-vis the handle. What this means is that when the hand is gripping the handle, the cutting edge closest to the choil is usable on a flat surface. No knuckles lifting it above the surface. Mating a wharncliff blade to this geometry will make for an outstanding functional cutter!

I like that orange G10 and if there is a preference would like it on the wharny. The bead blasting and spline file work really enhance the look of the blade. I would suggest rounding the tip of the sheath though as it would be more conducive that way for neck carry :)

All the best!
