Orange Groove

Black and Orange is awesome to me! I have a like for that color combo overall, I even have a black and orange gunstock on my 10/22 rifle. I prefer the black and orange over the uncoated, though I generally do not like coated blades.

Thomas, for real, if I could get a set of the orange scales I would love it. I know it's not production, but if you have an extra set of the scales made up that you do not need I would take them off your hands ASAP. Shoot me a price and you'll get it! It is the colors used for my work, if you knew where I worked you'd understand. :D If you have a whole knife available like the tanto shown I'd buy it too.

:o...I'm just way too boring I guess Thomas. I just can't appreciate the new bright, vivid colors that have become so popular. For me it's more the "earth-tones" that I appreciate...Like the boring black G10 and the browns...Gotta be age taking a firm grip on me...:p:eek:

I do really like the orange but I am kinda with you on the earth tones, one of my favorite color schemes on a knife is plain old OD and Black. I was disappointed to findout that the Tanto Groove ended up getting Black G10 rather than the OD in the early pics.

Those color combos aren't appealing to me that much on these knives but, of the two, I prefer the black/orange. It's cool to see Kershaw experimenting with different variations though.

I dont think anyone has said it yet, Thomas, so I'm gonna venture to bet that you've realized that lots of guys who ride Harley Davidsons also carry knives!!;) If you can corner that market by making knives that match their bikes perfectly, you will RULE the industry!! And if that wasn't what you were thinking, then you can thank me later, no problem:D

P.S. I kinda like 'em, and I ride Japanese bikes!!

I think it's great that you're asking... thank you. And it's funny, I was just asking myself the other day if you guys had ever done an ERT type folder. If I had to choose, I would go with the black version. Orange is not my favorite color, however, since I grew up with that hair color

What are you saying OE, is your hair a different color now, or is it just plain gone????;)

As an outdoorsman, I like orange G10 on knives to maximize visibility. If you drop your knife in a pile of dirt/leaves/branches, the easier it is to find, the better.

I'm not digging it on the Groove, though. I got the plain versions for Christmas, and love pretty much everything about it - including what I consider to be the classy look of the black G10 with the stainless steel. I don't consider it to be a wilderness type of knife though, so no need for the bright orange.

I still like the idea of of doing an interchangeable Groove - different G10 colors and/or blade shapes/steels, but not in orange.

who says it has to be for outdoor visibility? Some of us *cough*me *cough* just have a habit of putting things down on very messy tables/counters/benches/terrariums/bookshelves/dressers/closet shelves/headboards....... I love the orange uncoated, though I would also love a non-tanto coated, but with the wavy pattern from the uncoated.

And really, capitalize on the black/orange at some point, throw a spiderweb on there and sell a "halloween" edition knife.

Gotta love the Jap bikes.

Not to mention Cincinnati Bengals fans!

sv, the sign on the right of your pic...what does it say, and more importantly, what does it mean?

Nice bike...

I really like the color of the plain handled version. I like that type of contrast. I don't really care for the Halloween orange/black.

I would like to see BLUE, or Carbon Fiber:eek:.
I think BLUE would look good against the plain steel.

Mr. Martin knew what he was doing when he designed that knife.
It really looks great.

Do you have a customer like Stihl or Echo or Snap-on that you are wining and dining?
That would make a nice promo for a Stihl Chainsaw. :)

To answer for sv, it says "Limited Sight Distance". Which means
there is probably a curve in the road ahead that has a lot of trees
or something blocking the view in a dense neighborhood.

if you listen to his advice, you'll see me with an avatar full of grooves!

Thanks Mike...I live in the mountains and limited sight distance is very common, but I've never seen it on a sign before...

Reminds me of Halloween. Sorry Thomas, I don't like either one. Now a rich blue...

The orange and black combination looks good. I wouldn't go for it on an EDC, but I would definitely consider it for an outdoors blade that might get dropped and require finding. Although a defender of FRN, I do like G10.

I like them both, the orange matches the colors of my Alma mater and I know a few other friends who would like them as well.

I'd be willing to bet that the sign is up because someone either got scared for their kids or dog (or possibly had a pet killed) and threw a huge hissy fit until the gov't gave in and wasted a couple hundred dollars putting up a sign stating the obvious.

and cast another vote for blue, it's my favorite color.
