Orange LW Manix 2?

I will pass on s90v. I might grab one if it's in xhp, not sure. Orange in Cruwear would be a must have and would likely sell out faster than either xhp or s90v. And yes, I know the original cruwear offerings didn't sell crazy fast, but I think the steel has developed a bit of a cult following and folks are begging for more. If I'm not mistaken, Sal did mention recently that there was a dealer exclusive (Cruwear) in the works.

Yes I'm also very curious about the Cruwear exclusive. A gray Manix LW in Cruwear would be just splendid...

I already have too many knives on the S90V side of the stainless steel spectrum to fork out cash for another. :o

An H-1 Manix 2 lw would probably be my exclusive work knife for life. I am surprised it has not already been produced.

2 for me, pliz. Only reason I carry these Spydies exclusively and haven't laid my hands on a Manix yet

Peacent, you should try a Manix LW in s110v. Though it may not be my favorite edc steel, s110v has some really attractive qualities. It is extremely stainless...more so than any other "normal" stainless steel I have used, so in the linerless Manix LW handle, it does very well in corrosive environments. The steel seems pretty tough to me and the pe will obviously stomp all over H1 in edge retention. It is the only non salt folder that I am comfortable carrying on my kayak on a daily basis.

This is a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive that's coming sometime in the future. News of this first surfaced last October I believe.

This sounds like a recipe for a phenomenal lightweight backpacking knife!
Easy to find when on the ground or anywhere else!

I assume they will have it released in time for Halloween like theyve done in the past. I think they like to link the orange knives and Halloween together. Either way im getting one.

At one time I had the BD1 and the S110V Lightweights. Then I did a collection purge and off they went. I'm in for the orange in XHP or S90V.

I'll pass if it is S90V and I will buy one without question if it is XHP and not coated.

Yeah, I think the s90v (if that's the way they went) wasn't the best marketing decision. I remember when they announced the knife and said they were thinking to go with s90v, I shook my head wondering why they would choose that. S90v is no longer an "exotic" steel in folders and what's more, the exact knife is being offered in s110v in a production model. Personally, I think there is to wide of a gap between bd1 and s110v and this would have been a great opportunity to offer the manix LW in a steel with balanced properties. I think if they went with s90v, the only thing that they will be selling with this exclusive is a new handle color. Of course, that will be enough to eventually sell them all, but a more interesting steel choice could have made this into more of a hot seller IMO. Again though, the s90v is only our speculation based on some early comments. We shall see.

--Also, I'm clearly not trying to say that s90v is a bad choice of steel for practical use. It's not always practicality though that makes exclusives sell out in hours.

Hell yaaaa! The orange LW in CTS-XHP would be perfect! I never tried s90v though. I was always too worried that it would be a nightmare to sharpen.

I have three knives with S90, and even more with xhp. I would like to see 4v. I have the mule in 4v and it's been a really good performer thus far.

The term "well balanced" comes to mind with those three I listed. Very user friendly in all aspects.

I'm not sure why XHP would be a better selection over S90V?

I used to think it had higher toughness and corrosion resistance, at least until I had rust issues with my XHP mule.
XHP should be easier to sharpen than S90V which might appeal to some people.

SurfGringo what is your opinion/experience with S90v? Im not the steel expert nor have any experience with it.
