Orange LW Manix 2?

SurfGringo what is your opinion/experience with S90v? Im not the steel expert nor have any experience with it.

It is excellent steel, assuming one is looking for certain characteristics. Good corrosion resistance and it will hold a working edge longer than many steels that are currently used in production knives. It is a bit more difficult to bring to high levels of sharpness when micro-beveling. (I'm talking about far beyond shaving sharp) I would like it in something like a fillet knife or a skinner, but it is not my favorite steel for an edc. I think a guy who sharpens once or twice a month and uses his knife well into lower level sharpness will really appreciate a steel like s90v. I tend to sharpen my edc knives daily to keep them at kind of silly levels of sharpness so the added difficulty of sharpening is a bit of a liability and the better edge retention rarely comes into play on my edc blades. I believe opinions vary on the steel based on how one is using a knife and whether they are experiencing more of the steels benefits or drawbacks.

Yes, I think that rwl34 would have hit a great sweet spot between the existing Manix LW's. I haven't used it yet but I LOVE cpm154. Probably my favorite stainless steel.

Another good suggestion! CPM154 is most excellent, especially if it comes from PW.

I was cutting semi frozen Boston butt with it last weekend and thought it was giving me too much trouble until I realized I went through a bone...no rolls or chips.
