Orange Paramilitary

Just got the e-mail ten minutes ago. Called and spoke to Jeff and gave him my card info (he laughed at how quickly I responded). Should be shipping out right away. And again, I originally ordered on 12/30. Hope this helps some of you.

Yay! :D
That is awesome! Since we ordered so close I will assume that I will be getting my email most likely tomorrow hopefully early in the morning. Very excited, been waiting all day, checking my email every other minute. :D

I am curious, I already gave them my CC#, will I have to give it to them again? (Only asking since I have seen a few post that they received the email, and then called them with their CC#).

The answer to your question is on the preorder page :D

Pre-Orders Explained:
We've had a few customers ask how we handle pre-orders, so we thought it would be a good idea to explain.
When you place your order our payment gateway (Authorize.net) communicates with your bank or credit card company to verify availability of funds (if you're using a debit card) or to verify credit availability (if you're using a credit card). As we (Cutlery Shoppe) don't want your money until we're ready to send your order, we do not complete the transaction. After a few days (this varies from bank to bank) this "pre-authorization" will disappear when they do not see us complete (charge) the transaction. This is no cause of concern, as this is normal. This releases the funds held (on debit cards) or credit availability (on credit cards). When the knives arrive (Spyderco has scheduled Spring 2012 delivery) we will charge the card you have provided. As we will be processing hundreds of orders, it will not be possible to contact you before processing your order. If the funds are not available and the card declines, we will e-mail you. If we don't hear back from you with an alternate card within a day or two, we will cancel the order. Sorry, but we no longer accept PayPal, as they do not approve of many of the products we offer.

Surprisingly, this wasn't the case today. I received an e-mail that stated the following:

As the orders are too old for us to process normally, we ask that you call us with your CC number. We apologize for this inconvenience, but they have been purged from our system for security purposes.

Please call us with your order number that is in the subject line of this e-mail, as well as your CC number, and we'll get your order processed and sent to you.

So yeah, czechinthepipes, it's very likely they'll need your credit card number again. I asked them if they needed the original card that I used to place the order the first time and they told me no. By the way, Jeff was ridiculously friendly on the phone, and we even joked for a bit before getting to the order. Great service and a really nice guy.

This is what I was curious about, I had read the "Pre-orders explained" several times but then hearing how several members have been contacted made me curious. Has anyone received their para2 without being contacted at all?

Mine is out for delivery and I hear the mailman coming. I'm feeling like a kid on Christmas.

It's here. But, I'm disappointed right off the bat. It's super tight and I can't loosen it to the point to have no play but still be smooth. It also has up and down play like crazy. I'm going to let it break in and see what happens before I make and rash decisions though.

Thanks for the info. I didn't get that email yet. I guess I'll give them a call Monday.

Personally :) I'm just as happy that my CC info isn't lying around any more places than necessary.

Very nice indeed. I have owned 7 Paramilitarys, 3 P1s and 4P2s. My first was the CPMD2 which is extraordinarily smooth and the only P1 I have kept. This orange P2 is smoother than any other P2s and rivals the CPMD2. It is exactly what I was hoping for as far as smoothness, blade centering, lockup and color. I have always been pretty lucky with Spyderco and this one is perfection.

I can now cool off for a while and enjoy my 4 favorite knives.

my only other para is the D2 foliage green as well. I got lucky and picked one up a little before they stopped making the P1. and it was slightly cheaper than the s30v version and I didnt have any D2 blades yet.

I got mine today. I'm VERY pleased with it. Very smooth, perfect detent. Nice job on these, Spyderco!

This is by far my smoothest one and the smoothest one I have ever felt, after breaking it in a little. Im so pleased

I ended up getting it for around 130 whic is a bit more than i would like to have spent but it makes me feel better that while i didnt get it at the cheapest price...i didnt pay the highest price

I just got mine. I thought that I was going to like the orange, but now that I have it I'm not sure. I decided to not collect something that isn't also going to get used, so I think I'm going to end up selling/trading it. I think the orange is just too bright for me.

Same here, I already started a thread in the trading forums. I really want the blue one
