My one civic was built in Ohio, but lets talk "American". What do u think made in America really means? A vin beginning with 1 means built in America, most anything else is not. Quite honestly most American made vehicles, aka dodge and Chevrolet, r junk and don't gold a candle to European or Japanese built vehicles.

I am with knotty, my family has had such bad luck with fords I will never own one in he future, I could win a brand new gt500... I would just sell it. Old school muscle I would choose mopar, new muscle cars would be camaro for domestic, new any domestic would be the new viper. Realistically I want to get a wrx for my next vehicle, all wheel drive so it will handle the winters here, affordable for someone who makes as little as I do, and still fun to drive. Gotta finish paying off the RX-8 first.

Omg no no no no no no no no no no no please, don't keep that rx8, seriously. I work for Mazda and i wouldn't pawn one off on my worst enemy, if u want more, lmk, I'll elaborate, but that is one of the worst cars made in the last ten years

Your opinion, but by now you probably know that I don't like foreign stuff, whether it be my knives, cars, or anything else. I like to buy American. It's the way I was raised.

Those rotary engines weren't so reliable.

My buddies RX-8 burned more Oil then any car I've ever seen... I'm a Mitsubishi Guy... I've had Evos, Talons, 3000GTs, hell even my KIA Koup motor was co-developed with Mitsubishi.. to bad they stopped making cool cars.

Check the details on those Fords. At last check, I think 46% of the parts used to assemble the typical F150 were from China and Taiwan. I think Toyotas were like 60% US made and manufactured parts.

I had an older guy pull up beside me in my Tacoma and he in his F150 and told me to buy "a real truck, an American truck" [like his]. I politely asked him to research how much of his actual truck was "American" made and that my Tacoma had more parts made in the U.S. by American workers than his did. He just took off in a huff. Oh well.

That's because you were raised by ethnocentrism, a common trait in southern states. This promotes intolerance and a vast lack of acceptance, I'm not coming down on ur parents, merely stating statistics. A thriving global economy is a good economy, contrary to what most would have you believe. Open your eyes to new possibilities, the Italians make wonderful things, and Chinese food is bomb.

Onto the rotary thing, is reliable, when driven properly, is reliable. It burns oil because its a two stroke lol. Its powerful and has a great power potential, with no real problem with worn bearings or moving parts, its a fun engine with unlimited possibilities. 99% of the owners know nothing of how to care for them and shouldn't own them.

Wow, I didn't know those Ford's were that bad. What do I think Made in America means? Well, a car that's made in America....
Junk? Why would you say that? American made cars are some of the best on the road. That's not to say European and Asian cars aren't good, but I would much rather prefer an American made car over a European or Asian car. I still love European cars, especially Ferrari, but I wouldn't say that American cars don't stand a chance against them. I bet if you took some of America's, Europe's, and Asia's best car makers, America would take first.

I know the Italians, Japanese, Korean, etc make good stuff, I just don't like buying them. And yes I realize that some "foreign" cars are more "American" than "American" cars. Like the 370Z. Made in TN I believe.

Love my rotary's! I had an 87 with 140,000 on the original seals! Just such a fun car to own., it was my work/ beater car. I think I had to replace brake calipers and that was it!

Rotary engines burn oil, that's just the way they're designed. I ran my RX-7 hard in auto-x and later on, the dragstrip. Really bad on gas though, especially with a Holley pro-jection 4-barrel.

I have a Dodge Magnum, and it's basically a hemi (6.4 stroker now) on a Mercedes drivetrain and a lot of Mercedes parts will swap right over. The build is practically bulletproof, but I need to upgrade the transmission with the AMG clutch packs when I go above 550 rwhp. My buddy's 300SRT has twins and dyno'd at 1190 rwhp, the AMG transmission is holding up fine.

Hey fellows. I am going to sell my Blem Blur Carbon Fiber/CPM154. Thought I would offer it to you guys first. I will let it go pretty cheap as I need the funds. Just PM me if interested.

I'd take you up on that... But I've got three already...

Forgot to tell you gents, yesterday I was eating out at red lobster. I was near the bar waiting to be seated and I seen this big construction/ redneck looking guy walk in with a group. We ended up chatting a little while waiting. He got up and walked by and I noticed his pocket had an odd shaped clip on it. It clicked in my mind what it was and I gave him the "hey buddy what's the brand of pocket knife in your pocket". He says Kershaw and I gave him the hell yeah! He pulled out his JYD 2 and I pulled out my Mac boa! He said he picked it up in Tennessee somewhere and that it was like $80. I told him I knew of an awesome place that had composite blade blem JYD 2's for a lot less. He was excited and I told him the magic words "Kershawguy.com"! I also hinted that he ships like greased lightning! My wife shook her head and was annoyed but oh well! He said he would definetly be excited to check him out! See I'm fighting the good fight! I hope I got him and his buddy to get something from Dave!

Hah! I love meeting knife people. You can imagine that in NY, it's much rarer. But oddly enough, I do meet them. Met a military gent who was home for the holidays at the post office. I saw his clip, asked what kind of knife, and we spent like 15 minutes talking about knives. Also at a Guitar Center, I met another drummer who was a drum tech, and the guy at the counter asked "Why do you guys carry knives!?" We told him if you actually work as a drummer or a tech, you can't get by with some crappy box cutter. The amount of straps and duct tape you've got to deal with calls for an actual knife.

So... Car politics in here eh? I drive my wife's Honda Accord and my sister's VW Jetta. Wham! I also played Tama Drums that were made in Japan, used Roland Electronics made in Taiwan, and refuse to play Pearl's US made drums. Now, I'm having my next kit built custom by a very good friend, in...CANADA! :p

I have a Dodge Ram sport truck with 120,000 miles on it now and other than normal maintenance zero problems with it. Love the new Hemi Challenger's looks and know people that have them without any major problems. I think for the most part the US auto industry has closed the gap on the imports quality wise .

How many engines have u put in it?

On my second, first one was replaced around 66k miles and I am at about 80k now. Have had the tranny rebuilt under factory warranty when I got it second hand, replaced a ton of sensors, and second gear is really notchy, I have to double clutch into it when downshifting at above 35 miles an hour. Really fun to drive when it's running right but it would be paid off if not for all the repairs. It will be my last mazda, I had great luck with my toyota tacoma (first vehicle) and really want to give subaru a shot with the wrx I just can't do it yet financially. Too bad too because I wanted the current gen and it's getting a ground up update for the next gen.

Ill beat all of you with my 97 Buick lesabre......... Lol I don't get car people they argue too much. No offense of course guys :D

I'll lap you guys with my feet! Running away from all the bleeding heart liberal criminals and muggers in NYC has me going pretty fast. :p
