Yo Marky Mark. I found something that I think would complement your Pelican case nicely. I'll send it out with the Blur if you were still wanting me to sharpen it for you. If not, I can ship it out to you by itself.

Uh oh, since it's coming from you I'm slightly scared:D
yea I'm still going to send my blur out. Probably sometime next week during my spring break.

Daymon, I'll be forward with you. However, it's important to know that paraphrase and summary of a subject like that is dangerous, since it's an English class and the words you use are just as important as the ideas behind them. That's what English class and the area of literature is about. So, unless I see the actual writing I can't fully comment.

To comment on your paraphrase however, I'd say that the grade was justified. I understand that you're young and may not get the full weight of things, especially of things so far removed as from the 1950s. But keep in mind that what you said is at best contradictory, and at worst profoundly racist sounding and unfortunately ignorant. Please keep in mind I'm not judging you, but the paraphrase you wrote.

Till was a 14 year old kid that was beaten and had his eye gouged out before being murdered. He was tortured. This was also in 1954, quite some time after WW2. It's not as if it was right after the Civil War, and even then it's inexcusable. He flirted with a girl. I just don't understand how you can actually hold the opinion that he should have known the consequences of flirting with a girl. How old are you? Haven't you done something foolish?

So you think he "kind of deserved" to be brutally beaten, have an eye torn out, and murdered because he flirted with a girl? I have to ask, are you serious? If you are, then you should've been prepared to explain in excruciating detail why you think that.

Please don't take this is judgment of you or an attack toward you. This is an area of my expertise, so I'm just trying to give you better perspective. In fact, that's exactly what you need. This may sound odd to you, but opinions aren't a sacred untouchable thing. They can be, and often are, wrong. The opinion that people can commit murder for whatever trivial reason they want, is wrong. You can find that perspective when you think of what suicide bombers believe is what their victims deserve. The opinion that the Earth is flat, or is the center of the Universe, is also wrong, to give a less severe example. Opinions aren't really a get out of jail free card in the marketplace of ideas. If you've got an opinion, you should be able to substantiate accordingly with argument and evidence. Do I think you could do that with the opinion that Till deserved what was done to him? I don't think so, but who knows. Maybe I'm wrong and you're a brilliant writer who's seen the history in a different light.

Part of education is having your ideas challenged, and seeing whether or not they hold up in the marketplace of ideas. Often times, they don't, and acknowledging that you may want to rethink some things is the only way you really learn. I think what you wrote was wrong, and I think the response you received was justified. You may not agree, but I urge you to honestly think about it more, and think about it as more than just some words on a page. Till was a real kid, someone's son. Someone's friend. Personally, I don't think anyone deserves that kind of treatment for something so meaningless.

Sorry to spoil the mood, I'm honestly just trying to help.

Btw, I bought the Skyline. I figured I'd get it for rabbits before someone else snagged it, but I guess that's not necessary.

I bet you're right. His WTB list is now a DLC TiLT and a Speedform 3500.

I may have made that one too easy. :p

I'll write my response here for space.

I agree with you about the whole paraphrasing, that's why I was a little hesitant in the first place to even say anything because I didn't have the actual words sitting in front me. I will never have them again because I threw the paper away. I understand that you're being strait forward with me and not sugar-coating it, which is what I honestly like for a person to do.

I'm not trying to say that he should've had consequences held against him for flirting with a girl. I do it. Everyone does it. I'm saying that what he did, with that time-period, and with the whole civil rights movement, was uncalled for. That would be like me going down south and going to a deep pro-confederate area and yelling "Abraham Lincoln kicked all of your a****!!" You just don't do that. It's stupid. I have most certainly done some very foolish things in my life. Some I regret, some I don't.

Again, I don't agree with him being murdered. I just think he should've realized that doing that kind of thing was unnecessary.

Everything else you said, I agree with you.

FYI: Unnecessary is probably the wrong word to use in this subject.

Wait a minute. SolidO, did you really just give us your tracking number??

Wait till you guys see what I did today! Its sweet! I'll post it up tomorrow! Hint... its red...
Off to bed I'm under the weather.

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while. Several weeks ago I bought a pretty well used whirlwind and it needed a new torsion bar and a clip. I asked Kershaw to send me the replacement parts and they did send me a new clip, but no torsion bar. Is this normal? Once in the past I asked for a pocket clip for my JYDII and they sent me a clip for a JYD. It's great that they send free parts, but so far they're batting a big 0, for me anyway.
