For those of you who care to know, kids cars did pretty well in the pinewood derby. My older sons car made it to 11th place, youngest sons about 15th out of 40 or so cars. Daughters didn't fair to well. My youngest sons places 2nd in design overall. My old boyscout car from the early 90's placed 3rd overall in the open class for speed, placed second last year! Way back in the day It placed 3rd or 4th overall in speed.

By the way I had asked for people to guess what 2 out of 3 were based on and the answers are, the one you thought looked like a batmobile was based off an old jag xk140 and the second one was a 1970 mustang mach 1.

That's awesome. My son just had his and his car did great. He placed 4th or 5th overall but his car took first in 4 races and he had 4 2cnd place and a few 3rd place finishs. I'm surprised he didn't at least get 3rd overall.
 
Oh godddd.... i am so turned on by that tachyeon II tanto that BHQ just released... i think i need to get on dat. I wasnt a big fan of the bowie shape... but DAT TANTO.... mmmmmmmm

Awesome! Boy scouts I pressume? Some of those dads get way involved buying $50 to $100 kits and premade cars, so thats not too bad at all for making one yourselves!

I tried a few different things tis year and it didn't work out too well. We have a good idea of what we are going to do next year though! It is really fun and can get complicated if you get too into it for such a simple car! The kids have fun making the shapes and painting, and I have fun trying to make them fast so it works for us!

Cub scouts. Ya it was fun customizing the car with him. Weighed in at exactly 5 oz which is the max you can go.

Has anyone here heard of OBEX Design Knives? The gentleman asked me about a trade for one of his pieces and I had never heard of them till then. I looked around and seen a handful of pretty nice pieces I would like to own (Munchkin mk-1/mk-2, and the reaper mk-1). Any info would be most helpful.

Gotta love when that happens! I used my scale but it was off from the "official" scale and all of ours came in at 5.5 oz . I took a drill with me in case and by the time I was done, my battery in the cordless was dead! I countersunk all the weight so I wil shoot for 4.5 oz next year and take a few sticky weights!

ummm, well I was feeding my snake, and the mouse wasn't quite big enough for him, so I went to slice another one in half (the mice are frozen BTW) and it turns out the mouse wasn't completely frozen, and mouse guts got all over it.

That's all? My dad guts his deer with the same knife every year and cleans it out when he gets home.

Exactly. Didn't you watch my video? Same knife for years! It's called soap and water son, and while your at it grow a pair! :p

well to be honest it has SO much vertical play, that I wasn't using it anyway, but now I'm really not using it.
