I didn't think you were hinting at me. I saw the word "Blur" and realized I haven't given you an update in awhile. I feel like you will like what you get when I get it to you. I hope you do, at least.

Volunteer with one of the the only departments in the USA that has an I.S.O. of 1. meaning the department has the best tools, training, water supply, reaction times and smallest loss rates etc... basically there are only a handful of depts. in the country that have a rating of 1, and we were the only volunteer one with a rating of 1 last I had seen.

We were asked about going paid with volunteer help but it was voted down by all companies in the department and the department governing body. This year is our 125th anniversarry of fire service. I have over 11 yrs. personally and am a third generation FF. I have actually looked into a career with a few depts. in the south even passed the written, physical and psyc tests. The academy was full though and you start fresh the next year so I would need to do it all over again! I have been considering giving it another go depending on when the class starts again. I better get in better shape though, i'm not in as good of form as I used to be.

As much as we all put into the dept. (service, P.R., Firefighting, training, etc...) we probably should be paid!

Are you working constantly? Cause I'd imagine you would since you do that, and your normal job.

It happens! I have had to excuse myself from some pretty important things and take off running out the door! We had an annual Firefighters mass at church and got a call for a structure fire and it looked like a boat was sinking we were running out all the exits it was funny chaos! and getting dressed in a 6 man cab with 12 people in it can be extremely difficult!

I might try volunteering one (maybe more) year(s), when I'm old enough.

A lot of departments have a junior FF program. Its something to look into. You can get credit towards your Firefighter 1 course sometimes from that.
 
Was supposed to get my Krein custom today. The package was signature confirmation however and no one was home. So now I have to wait through work all of tomorrow too, before I can pick it up on my way home. :grumpy: :livid:
