hmmm, S10 in titanium??
Should I? (when I get the money of course)

I see ICE offered you his, which is good because I just sold my second one. Personally...Olight really dropped the ball on that light. I had three of them pass through my hands and all of them were effed up royally in the tint department by their overdone anti-reflective coating on the lens. Most standard S10's don't have that problem, but some do.

The tint on all my Ti S10's was seriously unbearable, and I'm really not a tint snob. The issue was that it was cat piss green. Really green. I took the bezel and lens off, and the tint was perfect. That damn lens ruined it. I ended up swapping the lens on mine, and it fixed it dramatically. I then swapped the lens on the other one I had and sold it. I got the lenses from some spare S10's that were laying around that had to go back anyway.

I'm just getting a couple things right now because I don't have a lot of money. Leatherman PS4 in blue will have to serve as my main multi-tool until I get a bigger and more heavy-duty one. A blue and white boondoggle. It never hurts to have extra paracord. A 30mm split ring to put everything on. A BladeHQ bottle opener. There's no real reason for that. Just something that I wanted and it wouldn't hurt to have one. I still need/want to get a pen, main flashlight, back-up flashlight, tweezers, Spyderco Bug, Kershaw Torx/Phillips screwdriver set (got that idea from Stebby) and a peanut lighter. I'll probably add and take some things off as I go.

Again, hate to be the buzz kill, but I recommend against the peanut lighters. They're a nice design, but they're very poorly built and not reliable at all. I used to have them, went through five of them. When I was at Blade Show I spoke to the people at Going Gear and they said they stopped carrying them because they were so bad, and ended up coming out with their own design of a portable lighter. I got two of those, the Tohil lighter (Numyth is the brand) and it's pretty amazing.

Daymon, have you checked out the Gerber Dime? I have one, and it's pretty awesome.

It's a Gerber product, so I won't buy it.

I have one...hate it. It's sitting in my drawer now. After I do a video bashing the hell out of it, you're welcome to take it Knotty. That way you won't have to buy it. :p

Well, I wouldn't buy their knives either.....or most of their multitools. The dime on the other hand is really nice. But the only complaint I have with the dime is the black coating sucks. But in all fairness it shares a key ring with my light, and keys.

I wish Manny were here. He's had a lot of experience with Gerber products, and has good insight into their stuff.

Looks like Jim Skelton jumped on the "Burnt Elmax" bandwagon.

Can you point me where?

By the way, I wanted to ask you guys if Manny can post here? His Kershaw collection has been growing rapidly since Blade Show, and since he's pretty much the other half of "sticktodrum Productions" he's an integral part of my knife world. He's also pretty brilliant, and has good insight on most things.

Figured I'd run it by you guys.

The more the merrier:thumbup:

No buzz kill at all :). I enjoy your very knowledgable posts Mario. I'll look into something else.

I'll gladly take your beat up Dime. It'll be my Stick memorabilia.

On Instagram, knifethursday posted a picture of a guy who effed up the tip portion of his 0560. You can look in the comments.

Any friends of Mario's is welcome in my book. He seemed liked a cool guy in your video.
Well, to be fair. Some people make it out like it has never happened before and gang up on the people that say it has.
True, but the people who say production Elmax sucks and that ZT burns it makes it sound like it's the most horrible thing in the world.

Meh. What bothers me is that people want to support their friends, so no one comes out and actually says "Um...buddy? Yeah, that's not a thing. Maybe it happened to just you, or your cognitive dissonance is so potent that you're literally seeing problems where none exist. Cut the crap." That bothers me.

I tell my friends and family when they're wrong, or being stupid. Granted, I have few friends and I offend a lot of people, but facts are facts and I have little tolerance for people who parrot conjecture and perpetuate something without proper investigation, insight, or even an ounce of due diligence.

These are guys that have thousands and thousands of followers, and a lot of their "opinions" are irresponsible and rude. Like I was saying to Manny the other night, I was really disappointed that Gavko actually brought up the Elmax thing to Jen while doing a Kershaw/ZT booth video. That's just rude. Rude on the level of nutnfancy saying to Jim's face in his old ZT booth video that a sheath "blows" and then trashing everything while Jim was trying to do his thing for the video. It's rude, and it bothers me that this Elmax crap just smells of that lack of tact that became the reason I left the paintball "community".

Wanna know why I never say that to my friends??
Because they wouldn't understand the big words :p

Can we be Internet friends Sticky? :D

I'm not trying to sound like you or anything, but I too have a very low tolerance for the things you listed. I was showing one of my friends my Cryo and he wrist flicks his "Tac-Force" knife out and says "Oh yeah, mines bigger". I went on for probably 10 minutes why his knife is a POS. The sad thing is that he still believes his knife is royal gold or something.

I just realized that I didn't specify what I was referring to in that last portion. I was trying to say that I tell it like it is.

Bammy wham! :D

Can we be Internet friends Sticky? :D

Sure...

I was trying to say that I tell it like it is.

While that's a good thing, it's also good to take a step back and make sure that you're actually tell it like it is, and not just like it seems. It appears that much of the hoopla that makes its rounds is people who think they're telling it like it is, when they didn't take the proper steps to see if what they're seeing is true. One shouldn't take pride in just telling it like it is, as it were, because it makes the mistake of undue hubris.

Ugh, my head hurts. I shouldn't be thinking so much when it's so late and I have to be up wicked early for a Saturday.

Before I go though, I have to say that I got my package today from my flashlight dealer, in which were the new Zebralights I have been waiting for: SC52W (2 of them) and an H502W headlamp. All have neutral white XM-L2 LEDs, and this SC52w is the most amazing thing. The regular cool white was effing awesome in form, function, and build, but now with a neutral white tint it's just perfect. I'm in love.

So, have a great night gents. Sorry I've been so....ranty lately.

Sort of off-topic... but still KAI-related... so I figured this thread of randomness would be the right place for it. I happened to spot this KAI product while at a Japanese specialty shop today. I guess it still counts as cutlery. ;)

What do you guys usually use to oil your knives (assisted and non-assisted)? I'm trying a few things out, but want to hear from the brethren.

This sucks...I woke up with my eye sea
Eld shut and my i can't sallow without a bunch of pain

Dude, It's 10 o'clock. Why so early? Got a hot date tomorrow?

I wish lol...but alas no, I have pink eye. Basically I'm in a state of constant tears, exept the congeal around the edges untly my eyes are literally sealed shut. Also I have a really sore throat. :barf:

Oh yeah, I want to get a widgy bar too.

If you go to blade show 2014 (and he's there) check out sharpwerks stuff. He makes a couple different pry bars that are really cool! They're made out of heat treated O1 (around 57 RC IIRC) I'll try and post pics tomorrow.

Oh well. He's with everyone else that believes production Elmax sucks and that ZT burns it.

I'm going to watch the video before I comment.

Awesome!

I've been using frog lube. Food safe and it smells like winter green *shrug* oh, and it works pretty good on knives too:D but I haven't tried nano oil, tuff glide, ect. So I'm not really sure what's the best.

I feel horrible

That is frightening.

Wow looks like I missed alot in the last 12 hours :D :p.

I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings, I do not watch Jim because he irritates me. He spouts quite a bit as fact that isn't always accurate. It is fine to say something wrong obviously. However do your research before you tell your subscribers something as fact.

Zero Tolerance's burnt edges. I am sure it has happened once or twice, dare I say it. But so has probably ever production company out there. Heck alot of people believe that is why S30V got the reputation for being chippy.

I am not trying to stir the pot fellows so don't burn me at the stake :D.

I use Quick Release. Work really well and is super efficient. It claims to use a nano coating to reduce friction. But who can say if that is marketing or not.

I use Nano Oil. I haven't really noticed a difference in smoothness except with my FrankenSkyline.
I don't think there's any video. Damon said it was Instagram.
Daymon* :). There's a photo from "knifethursday" that has a 0560 with a messed up edge towards the tip portion. Look in the comments.
