Uber jealous. 1911 is my favorite gun, but I don't think I'd EDC it. I think the PX4 Compact (in 40S&W of course) would be perfect for me.
That made me laugh! And yeah, I already know you try. :p

There's a difference between trying and succeeding haha. :p

Why, thank you.

I cringe every time I watch these.

That would be pretty cool. I'll do the same as you (assuming you don't care if I copy you).

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys cut the most with your knives? Mines usually boxes like Pop-Tart boxes so I don't feel like I'm wasting a bunch of space in the garbage.

I widdle wood a lot, open boxes, plastic packages, bags, cardboard.
I cut a lot of vegatation with my 0200 in my back yard, as its a little patch of woods behind our house surounded by city roads (live in a town, not in the country) and im clearing a path in my backyard to the woods, abunch of thistle plants have grown, i know i should use a machete. But my neighboors are these panzy constant yard work kind of guyswho do alltherework with a weed wacker and lawn mower, andhave constantly scrutinized me for carrying knives and freaked out when i used my 0200 to cut off a branch of a tree when the chainsaw blade got to dull... Basically a machete would make them go berserk and call the cops, my other neighboors like my knives, they are directly from russia and the father has talked to me a lot about tools and knives
Sorry for the typosand poor sentances, I'll go back and fix this post up when i get home

1911's are cool... I've never shot one though.

I've shot:
a few 9mm's (Walther P38, Taurus M9)
.380
And a .22. That's pistols. For rifles, i've shot a couple of .22s, a Mosin Nagant (7.62x54), and two .223s... (Ruger Mini-14, and an AR-15)

You should've rubbed some dirt in it.......puss.
I couldn't. It was too busy bleeding like a MOFO!!

I have a range by my house that's pretty fricken sweet. You can rent any caliber for $20 (meaning if you rented a 1911 in .45, you could also rent any other gun that's also a 45 for no extra charge, you just have to turn in one gun, before you rent another), but you have to buy there ammo (it isn't too much more than normal price, only a couple cents more)
Usually I go every couple months, but recently we haven't because of the ammo ordeal.
Uh wow thought these where way more expensive. Ti and Carbon Fiber! Definetly on my want list!

They're good quality right? Cause if so, I might get that over the investigator.

Actually, you know what I want to do? I want to buy that pen, and then anodize the titanium bronze.
And HOPEFULLY not screw it up.

lol, iceman, i seriously was about to post that i wanted to buy that, i even had the same link copied :D
im thinking of getting that, or save up for this beauty http://www.arizonacustomknives.com/tactical-pen---damascuscarbon-fiber.aspx
my interest in pens is at the same level as knives now and i dont know if my first edc purchase over $200 should be a pen or knife... probably the pen, because with school starting soon ill use it a lot more than i could my knife

I don't know personally but being that he's RJ Martins son I would imagine so.

well this is annoying, my dad just scolded my when i told him i wanted to save for a 275 buck pen, and than he went off on how me spending $80 on my knife is foolish and that i hardly get value from this kind of thing, im really pissed, he went on to say things along the line of how a $2 bic pen and $20 knife will do serve me just as well as a 100 buck pen and knife can... :grumpy:

Well, he's wrong about the knife part, but he's kind of right with the pen. $275 for a pen is freaking ridiculous.

In my experience with pens, there isn't much of a happy medium between "tactical" and "pen." I've spent some time reading pen enthusiast forums and blogs, and it seems to me that many pen enthusiasts very rightfully scoff at the "tactical pen" genre. Those that are good for "tactical" use are pretty crappy pens and those that are better at being pens aren't really "tactical."

The Investigator is the closest I've so far come across that functions well as a pen in the genre. The Matthew Martin pieces aren't "tactical" at all. The $74 clicky is a nice piece, and the fact that it fits Parker style refills makes it a versatile pen. You could use the Fisher Space Pen cart with the adapter, or use a Parker rollerball, or better yet, a Schmidt Easy Flow 9000 (ballpoint, but almost as smooth as a rollerball). Even the higher billed capped pen, despite it having a striking point, isn't a "tactical" pen at all.

If you're looking for a pretty good writing pen that is worth anything as a pen, then I'd say pick up any of the Fisher Space Pens that fit your styling. They're very pocketable and the Fisher cart is fantastic for general purpose. If you're doing a lot of writing in school, then it would behoove you to look into something that will be comfortable and takes at least the Parker style refills, since the you'll have options of the Fisher, a rollerball, or another ballpoint.

Yeah, $100 is my max for a pen. Past say $20-40 you're really just paying for added bling.

Yeah, I think I'm going to get the Martin clicky.
