Order of the straight edge

With me straight edged blades are kind of a "you don't know what you got till you don't got it any more" thing. I carried a stockman for many years and didn't realize how useful the sheepsfoot was to me...until I started branching out trying other patterns and they did not have a sheepsfoot blade.

Now I'm back to mostly only considering putting a knife on the want list if it includes a sheepsfoot blade.

How about a few more!

Jeff, your Furtaker Trapper is a pleasure to see!! Its one of the GEC knives that I have always wanted.

Thanks, Gev, I've got another one in bone, but the stag is nice on this one, and it was a birthday present from my wife.

My first sheepsfoot was a Vic given to me at work around 1985-86?

I liked the stockman pattern and found myself using the sheepsfoot blade the most

Because I used the sheepsfoot so much I found the congress to be a logical choice for me to use working and the patten has become a favorite of mine

And my Gec offerings

Some beauties here :)

An old pic of the Real Lamb Foot that that Jack Black feller so kindly gave me in a GAW.

Thanks again Jack.

You're more than welcome my friend, nice to see a Lambsfoot here :)

I'll have to upload some pics :)

My son and I took the old .22 rifle for a walk last night , I thought I'd take a picture of my two most favorite belongings , both have been with me for years , and both have been carried many miles .

What is the knife in the picture 3rd from the bottom ? Your holding it in your hand , does it have an Awl or spike in the handle ?

Ken

PS - Your collection of knives astounds me sometimes :)

Thanks Ken, I'm having real problems loading pages tonight, can't even edit my post (that top pic shouldn't be there). That's a sailor's knife, a British Admiralty 301 pattern, by Harrison Brothers & Howson. There are others like that and more info on the pattern in the clasp knife thread :)

Beautiful straight edges, everyone! You guys are killing me! I usually have a straight edge on me when you count the congresses and stockmans. I don't have pretty pictures of those, but here are a few.

I really want a clip/wharn trapper, now.

Welcome new members, lots of straight edge goodness going on in here :D

No time for my group shot today but at work I had a chance to take a picture of the 55 on top of lots of straight edges ;)

Some mornings it's so hard to choose:
