It works. Like a charm.:)

Oldphysics -- RP #76 is in.

I'm a little concerned. I followed the instructions faithfully ... and the "paid up" thread is accurate as of 2 Nov ... yet my number does not show up as paid.

Any suggestions?

I really just don't understand why this process is so difficult. It's a simple matter of being able to read and comprehend, nothing more.

You forgot coping with the exitement ... and reading comprehension suffers when people get overly exited ...

Maybe so, but that totally goes against the whole philosophy of RAT and what our ultimate goals are: education on self-sufficiency. In other words, anyone who gets excited and doesn't think before acting needs to be buying someone else's knives and not ours. We're no trying to increase knife sales, we are trying to increase a level of competency in this bullshit world of knives and the outdoors. We should have known better than to think we could do such a project and only attract competent people. :D

You are right with your philosophy. And you will always attract people in need of education on self-sufficiency - some will know their own level well, some need to be shown their limits before they can profit of any education.

In this case it looks like it means that a whole bunch of RAT Packers need to learn to set aside a few minutes in which not to multitask but only to read something to fully understand it.

Exactly!!! Well said. Most of the problems have happened because someone did not take the time to think before jumping to conclusions. These are not people that I want in the woods with me in a survival scenario, kidnapping scenario, etc.

AMEN! some would shit their pants and forget who they were for a few days!

Wow - It appears to me that dealing with customers is not a strong point. It's truly dissapointing to see the "other" side of some people both business and consumer. I must say that I'm happy I didn't order one of the Rat pack knives.

Payment sent for #159

Thanks again for dealing w us drunken monkeys and making this possible :D

That makes two of us ;)

Again, let me say thanks to the 98 percent of those who made this project worthwhile and didn't create more hassles than necessary. For those who feel we are not customer friendly, well, that's a fair statement when it comes to customers who simply don't follow the rules. We've lost a few customers because of this ordeal, but so be it. I knew going in that this would happen, and that some would take their toys and go home because of us being so straight-forward. If they got their feelings hurt because of this then they really wouldn't like to train under us. For those who didn't get their feelings hurt even though you screwed up and we called you on it, I say good job. You fit in well here and will never have a problem admitting you're lost in the woods and die of pride or stupidity because you can't admit that you screwed up. And just for the record, I've been lost and been wrong many times.

I would not worry over any lost customers with this......The kind of person that could not figure this out and still blame others is the type of dumb ass that would cut themselves with the thing and try to sue because the knife was sharp.......I hope ya'll at RAT realize the appreciation that the 90%er's have for ya'll doing this and KNOW that we will always be loyal customers.......Drew
