Take the tracking down and ask to talk to the postmaster. Get their response to the situation and if it is not satisfactory, ask for the regional inspectors contact information. This generally wakes them up a bit. But the seller is not going to have much luck. The post office only shows loyalty to the local patron. They are nice and will answer questions, but it is fruitless in my experience. The seller can have their postmaster look into it; but they have their hands tied behind their backs and usually meet with some resistance from their peer. They probably see just as many collecting their mail and then claiming it wasn't delivered as they do stolen packages. But December would be a bad month to have a package accessible to thieves.
