Ordered a RC 6

what is jug fishing?

Only rednecks know what jug line fishing is, and trust me it's REDNECK but fun!:D Congrats on your new ESEE 6, it's an absolute work of art and a great knife. If you plan on heading out into the woods for a few days, take your 6 and your Izula and you'll be set.(I'm not sure what ESEE knives you have in your stock)

Gasp, take a jug(I have fancy "jugs" we made from foam noodles and pvc) and tie a line to it and then a weight on the other end. Have a few baited hooks coming off the line and toss it in the water. Come back and check the line. Hopefully you have several jugs out and hopefully you have several fish on. If that makes any sense.

None yet, but an Iz is enroute.

It's fishing...... just lazy man's fishing :D I like it!

I run my jugs in kayaks! So it is a little less lazy that way. I've got a little aluminum boat I need to do a little work to and a 4.5hp Evinrude but it didn't start for the first time ever last year so its in the shop now. I took it there once the weather got warm. But I always run them with the kayaks none-the-less.

The little boat is more fun if the wife comes along etc.

Well the Izula got alot of use rigging up more jugs and we set just a few for the first time. We cought one 6-8lb blue cat.

I'm looking for a "big brother" for my BK11 and can't decide between the RC4 & RC6. The 5 is just too thick and heavy for my needs. Does your 6 seem like a good all around utility, or more suited to "chopping"?

if you like "bigger" knives, the 6 is a perfect companion to the izula.
if not, the 4 is the same thickness, just shorter and with a smaller grip - but still plenty of knife for just about anything but wood processing.
I don't have a 4 <yet> but am very happy with my 6.
at ESEE fest, I used my -3 & izula for almost everything.

I prefer the 6 to the 4(have both),the handles fit me better, plus I just like bigger blades. But,I like my 3 better than the 4,which does'nt really make sense.

I personally don't think the 6 is big/heavy enough to be a great chopper in the realm of choppers if you know what I mean. But if you want that utility and can't decide between the 4 and 6 I would for sure go with the 6. The handle is also much more comfy too!

Either way you will be happy but maybe more happy with the 6 its a great blade.

A method of gettin some catfish dinner. :D

milk jugs strung out floating in a body of water with drag lines attached, baited with some chicken liver = catfish dinner.

That sums it up pretty well.

Jug fishing in Alabama is just an excuse for us to drink while we check on the jugs every so often.
