Ordered the new HK Axis 14715

The knife looks good. D2 blade, around $100, and good size. Seems like an all around good knife, aside from the option for only a coated blade. Blade shape is also a bit generic, I would like to see more drawn out spear points, modified Wharncliffe, and leaf blades made.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I just had provide some input for others that search for this. I bought the knife as well and just had it come in a few days ago. I was so close to returning it because the G10 is wayyyy to grippy! I tried so hard to justify keeping it, but the G10 was a real killer for me. The rest of the knife is absolutely awesome, though. So I went and grabbed some 320 grit sandpaper and lightly sanded one side of it. It's now perfect! I left it with only one side sanded for a few days just to try it out. I eventually sanded both sides, but experiment and see what you like. Anyways, it was night and day difference after the sanding. It still held its notorious G10 grip, but added a smooth factor to it. It won't slide out of your hands nor will it stick like velcro. It's perfect, seriously just perfect. It has to be in my top 5 knives. The D2 is awesome, the blackness is awesome, the blade shape, handle, size, weight, smooth feel, and everything!

For those of you who feel like the G10 is too much on this knife, take some sandpaper to it! It was super easy and really fast. After sanding just rinse it off under the sink, dry it, and admire your work. I can't stop stroking it! ;P

Tramp1s, could you post pic's of the sanded G10 scales? I like you have found the G10 to be pretty aggressive to the point of wearing on my jeans. I'm curious how different they might look after sanding. Still loving the knife though! Thanks!

I picked one up on Independence Day sale for less than $100, and it's incredible. I HATE the Axis lock, but this knife is forcing me to get over it.

The clip point blade looks wicked, the knife is sharp as can be and cuts like a laser, and the grip is awesome. Everything about this knife is great.

It's the same size class as a 710, but better in every practical way - I don't like the handle of the 710, it only works in a hammer grip for me and I didn't like the recurve on such a short blade. Meanwhile, the HK works in any grip, and the mostly straight clip point blade works for just about everything.

I just ordered one, it's my first new knife in some time, but I've been missing my 710 (lost to an ex, who swapped it for the pink Mini-Grip I had given her) and I stumbled across it while browsing Knifeworks at work.

I'm pretty pumped!

Love that look of that thing, but I really wish it was labeled "Benchmade" and not "HK." I don't know why that bothers me, but it just does.

In person it reeks Benchmade, you'll get over that hangup awful fast.
