This one looks like it got the extra gnarly treatment on the jigging! Nice color too!

If you are talking about the gap between the spring and the catch bit, I'm pretty sure they all have that. Nature of the beast.

Edit to add picture.

Good to know, everything else is perfect. I'm impressed by the blade finish GEC achieved. Not a grind mark to be seen, just a smooth mirror like finish. The pull is about perfect on the main, slightly heavy on the pen.

Edit. Yes, I see it now when I close the pen blade. There needs to be some wiggle room for the spring. It's actually impressive they added that detail. Just to fill the space for the thinner blade stock. I guess it's necessary for stability too.

288 arrived today. Looks great!
If 258 happens to see this and would consider a trade, shoot me a PM.
If 288 is someone's wish, also shoot me a PM.
Im open to trading either way.

ETA: Mine will be new in the tube until December 25th, then it probably gets etched and carried.
What etching are you going to do?

I agree...Planes Trains and Automobiles is better...D.R.Ss is best..they would have come to me eventually...3 Amigos is still up there.
The 2023 is in my pocket right now, and I've done a bit of whittling with it. To be honest, most of the forum knives have had little or no appeal to me. I've bought them for the sake of completeness. Some I've carried, used and liked, some I've carried and tried to like and some went straight back in their box/tube and only come out for pictures.
I admire the sacrifice you've made yablanowitz yablanowitz 😁

What etching are you going to do?

Ferric chloride, lightly.
I Like a more uniform patina so I start them out with the FC and them polish them back to a light grey with Flitz.
Then they get whatever they get in use so some do end up 'splotchier' than others but to me still look better than if you start using them as-is.
Also, I can't prove it but I think an etched carbon steel blade is less prone to spotting and rust compared to a polished one as well.

Saskatchewan, are you saying these knives are going to Saskatchewan, oh man not Saskatchewan, not in my life time would I think that one would go to Saskatchewan, but as a manitoban congrats.
Yep, Saskatchewan, probably only one.
