Orders

John,

You know you can get what you need through any of us here. We are all very proud of you, and wish you the best. You represent all that is good about this place, and we're behind you 100%. I hope to hear from you when you get there so we can send you little bits of this or that. I'm sure it would cheer you to hear from your friends. Watcherass.

Andy

If any of your supplies dwindle just say the word and more will arrive.

Tom,

It'd be nice to see you again, too. You're right, I'm trying to focus- it'd be nice to improve my GPA a little more before I graduate, instead of dragging it down. I guess we'll see.

I do have a small DVD player, good suggestion, John.

Thanks again, Andy. I thought Bruise represented everything good here. ;)

John

Jeez, man! You had better watcherass out there! Roll with the punches and always trust your gut. It never lies. If it don't feel right, don't do it! Simple as that. Also, have a good solid knife and take loving care of your weapons. Sand doesn't like the M4 all that well, I hear. But you know all this. Just do what you know you should. You're ready and you'll do fine and be back before you know it. Come back soon, with lots of stories, ya hear!

Take care, man. Check in as much as you can!

Chris

Hey, y'all. A couple of you have mentioned wanting to send me a folder.

Thank you so much. My folder needs should now be well covered.

I want you to know, if someone else just feels a need to drop a folder in the mail to me, I will probably not keep it. If anyone who hasn't spoken to me already sends me a folding knife, it will most likely find its way to another soldier who doesn't have a good knife, so please don't send me one unless you're okay with that. (If someone still wants to send a knife, knowing that I probably won't keep it for myself, let me suggest a 3-4" locking spear or drop point, not too expensive.)

Thanks for understanding.

John

Benchmade any some others are selling stuff over there at I'm sure good prices. I know a few guys working contract PSD over there said they bought those CRKT M-16 folders for CHEAP at Camp Courage.
John, if your interested, meet some of the Olive or Blackwater guys when you are there, just in case you want to go back as a contractor. It's sure not for everybody, but the money is somethimes right.

Yeah, if I can find the right deal, who knows?

I'm pretty sure I could tough out another 6 months for most of the price of a house...

Where I do need help
: I appreciate any advice as to things I may be overlooking from folks who've been deployed to the desert. Even if you haven't, if you think of something I may have missed, please email me.

I was deployed to the dessert buffet once. The ice cream was pretty good. But other than that I don't have any advice.

Stay safe. :)

Get the Apple Crisp in a bowl or the ice cream will melt and run all over the table.

Dang y'all both :grumpy: I was just getting ready to go buy some lumber, but I've got to drive right by a dadburn buffet to get there. And I was doing so good too, cuttin' down on the beer, sipping green tea, eating lentils and such. Now my belly's rumbling, and I've got this mental image of hot apple cobbler and ice cream stuck in my head.

By the way Bruise, what's the best khuk for deployment to the dessert buffet? :D

Sarge

Heh. I love y'all.

BTW, I've found a connection with an 18-series Sergeant Major, who's giving me some advice about deployment stuff.

Heh. What's the best hot sauce for deployment? :D I've got some Marie Sharp's- currently my favorite- as well as some El Yucateco green. I was so happy when they started carrying these at Wal Mart!

John you will be missed here. I hope you can check in from the field or when on leave.

Most importantly stay safe and be well!!

"By the way Bruise, what's the best khuk for deployment to the dessert buffet?"
I'm not Bruise, but IMHO it's 15" PK. Can cut the thickest cakes and scope up almost 1/2 a pie. As a plus it will help fight off the "old folks" at the fried chicken dish!

Dick

John, my brother out in Tucson tells me that Tabasco's new Habanero hot sauce is the doo wah diddy shiznit! ;)

John, makes sense, but I hope you'll keep this one for yourself! A CRKT Desert Cruiser (Hammond design) is headed your way. I have owned one for 2 years, and it's a great knife. Very strong, lightweight, very sharp AUS-8 steel and an excellent lock, and as fast as any auto to open one-handed. Also has a really useful wide clip with 4 mounting positions.

You should have it within a week. Joe and Dick wanted to send an 18 year old scantily dressed blond (female, I'm pretty sure!) to hand deliver it to you, but I drew the line at that. ;)

Anyway, you're doing the heavy lifting on this one, so be safe. Glad we could help a little bit.

Best,

Norm

Thanks, Norm. I'm looking forward to it...and I'm really not into blonds, and 18 is really too young for me.

But, the thought is appreciated! :D

little late... but hey, good luck!

one thing that comes to mind to me: ear plugs. get some REALLY good rated ear plugs, like db 33 - for sleeping... maybe some muffs or db 20 for shooting if you get into that. enough to keep your ears, not too much to be able to hear/etc.

Ahhhh the hot sauce! You have come to the Yoda of all that is spicy! OK, pick up some Cholula www.cholula.com/ that's the catch all. But if you want something really good get some Ring of Fire www.ringoffirehotsauce.com/ just get the original stuff. I'm not kidding, I've tried tons on them and this stuff is the shizzy shizznat of sauceyness! Good God it's good, and Hot! It's got really good flavor and you only need a little bit, I wish I owned the company, it's made here in San Diego. John Galt out.
