Oregon Knife Collectors Show in Eugene OR... Tonight...

From the Buck Collector's Club tables (the one that got away is the custom champagne with the gold blade, I am kicking myself hard right now, ouch!):

Oregon, I hear you... I almost bought one of them Custom Champagne 560s with the gold blade from Bruce Dollinger... I still might get one if he as any left.. They are only a few dollars more than that Black 560... ...

Thanks Oregon for the photos . Sounds like a great time you had . Shaking hands and talking knives . Man-O-Man ! DM

It is my pleasure David and you are welcome.

The photos let me look at the knives again after the show so the fun never stops. It is good to get out and face the providers of the objects that fascinate me. I could never imagine the stories that they tell face to face and they appreciate the feedback. They want to know what you want. Terrific. These interactions propel me in ways that I can't predict ahead of time. I'm looking forward to next year already.

Great shots oregon.....man it looks like Chuck and Joe were giving stuff away at that table, and I'm not talking about hat pins

Thanks Oregon for the pics... Nice 560.... I wish I was there, for sure.... Leroy as some Great knives.... I like the diamond-plate aluminum handle knives that Leroy makes... They are real lite... ITE

I was hoping for bargains on Bucks but I wasn't expecting miracle pricing. I am surprised that there were any left for me to buy at that price.

Leroy has knives that I want. That ivory, oh baby, oh baby. That knife is gonna be on my mind for some time. Handling that ivory really put it in a new light. Touching it gives great feedback that I don't think I've ever experienced before.

Yes indeed! Eye-popping prices and the unobtainable right before your very eyes handed to you gently by Chuck Buck. Talk about direct sales... Humbling for me.

Kalingas on display, please excuse the reflections but they were all under glass:

Boy they are sweet....   ... I just need 20 more to go and than some... ....

Oregon, was there any older 422s???

Nice Pics... ITE

I will look thru the pic for 422s (none that stuck out to me, however). Kind of like looking for needles in stacks of needles when you are there. Whatever I find interesting in cutlery when I'm at this show the depth of what is offered, for sale and display, is overwhelming for me. I sometimes find myself standing in awe with mouth agape simply saying wow to myself. The Moro weapons on display alone are beyond description and the numbers of individual pieces in incredible (one of many terrific Moro displays: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b188/oregun/04-18-2010OKCA024.jpg.)

You are right. I got to meet and talk to Chuck for 10-15 minutes at a Gander Mt last year. He is 100% genuine. 100% opposite of what most corporate bigwigs are like esp chairman. Another great reason to love Buck:thumbup:

Were any Paradigms there?

I don't think that I saw one. However, there must have been a million knives, at least, within easy reach. It is a "can't see the tree for the forest" problem. I need better search technique or your shopping list for next year. I could've put that question to Chuck & Joe had it popped into my noggin. The jolt, the buzz, that hit me when I found the 560 is still working.

You are exactly right Fritz ! He's the real deal . Not showy, or aloof and doesn't talk down to you . Heck, I'd take him for a dad any ole day . DM :)

You bet, And since my dad went home to the Lord in '91 I could be considered for adoption. CJ would you mind having a little(younger i mean) brother:D

Fritz, I know what you mean . I lost my dad in 2000 so that position is open and I'm ready to hire . I'm currently considering two applicants, Plumber and Flatlander but others could still make it before the deadline . If no ones home just push the paper under the door .
PS. Please include photos of Buck knives . DM ;)

Confession: I didn't see anything @ the show that I didn't like. Yes, I know, I've got it bad.

Really, however, the stimulus that this show brings is big fun. A lot of good people hauled a ton of outstanding cutlery just so my eyes could pop out of my head. That fact is much appreciated. Thank you kindly everyone who makes this annual show possible.
