Oregon Knife Collectors Show in Eugene OR... Tonight...

Thank you ITE for the kind words.

I've looked at each photo and slept on it for a bit and I cannot say that I saw any older BuckLites @ OKCA Sunday. There could have been some there but I didn't see them. However, the good news is that you have focused on collecting a branch of Bucks from the past that isn't on everyone's radar. You should consider bringing your collection to the show next year so that the 422s get a place in the sun. :D

The size of this tiny propane forge caught my eye @ OKCA and I thought that the Buck enthusiasts might like to see it, (these pics by permission of OKCA):

That is a cool little forge, for hot shoeing horses I just use a large torch.

That little forge sure looks efficient. Brilliant really. Who said that a forge must be large and waste energy anyway. If you are not going to be hammering out swords then why not. I wonder how long it takes to go thru five gallons of propane?

Skyhorse are talking about a hand-held propane torch applied to a shoe held by tongs in the other hand for your application?

looks like a nice show

You should consider attending next year's show. Don't make me come over there and get you.

It is put on the enthusiasts, staffed completely by enthusiasts and attended by enthusiasts. Birds of a feather kind of thing. Being there is kinda like being home with really good friends surrounded by a very large cutlery collection of extraordinary dimensions. If you don't see something you really really like at this show then you probably should look into Philately.

I've never heard of anything else like it. I've attended Blade West several times and it couldn't hold a candle to OKCA. Worlds apart.

Cool pics... Keep them coming.... I been thinking about showing my Bucklite at a show... Bucksway keep telling me too, anyway someday.... ITE

I can't sleep either ITE.

I've got a thread over on the Spyderco Forum with a bunch of non-Buck (and non-Spyderco) pics if you are interested: http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43074 Otherwise I'm pretty much out of Buck content, unfortunately.

I would really enjoy seeing your collection, or any part of it you could present, in person at the show. I believe that I am not alone in that desire.

Yep you nailed it,sometimes you have to tweak a factory made shoe to fit a hoof.Years ago I even fooled around made a few knives out of my worn out hoof rasps.A little 5 gallon tank lasts a long time, because it don't take long for that propane to get a hunk of metal red hot!Last summer there was a tv show called Tattoo Highway, the old worn out cowboy was me.What the heck,I got a free Tattoo of my best horse on my back.(yes I am crazy):D

Confession: I didn't see anything @ the show that I didn't like. Yes, I know, I've got it bad.

Really, however, the stimulus that this show brings is big fun. A lot of good people hauled a ton of outstanding cutlery just so my eyes could pop out of my head. That fact is much appreciated. Thank you kindly everyone who makes this annual show possible.

I've only seen 1 or 2 of those 5 pin 110's and they're rare . The Ram's horn 112 has a 3 dot blade in it, they made those up for the 20yr. and look great .
The 500's are outstanding ! Thanks for posting that photo . DM
