Thanks. I never even paid attention to my number of posts. I guess I've hit my first milestone here on Blade Forum.

you will like it. I lived there for almost 2 years. Lived in Portland due to no work any where else that I could find. Before that it was in Canaon Beach a short time. Cool part is in a hours drive you can get VERY LOST :) Take plenty of camping gear!!

I have a concealed carry for here in Texas but Oregon does not have reciprocity with Texas (nor most other states) so I thought Oregon was not gun friendly. Portland is a center of liberal (anti-gun) thinking. No?

Not only is Oregon a "Shall Issue" state, it is one of the few remaining where citizens can go "full auto" with both firearms and blades. :cool:

Yup.....we can carry pretty much what we want as long
as we do the proper paperwork....and plus when we do the meet and greet
we can show off our packin' irons.:p can't wait to get all of us together
so we can show off our pics.maybe even give the east coasters a
run for their money as numbers go:D

Can you carry openly out in the forest without permit/license for target shooting, etc, or do you have to have to be hunting or have a license to carry? Does your license only permit concealed carry? In Texas you can carry a handgun in your car, RV, house, campsite without a license. No problem in the forest either. I plan to visit my stepson in Oregon this summer.
 
Yes, you don't need a permit to openly carry on your person,car,RV,house,etc.
the permit lets you carry concealed not to scare the enlightened ones.you know them as .......targets:D
now there two Oregon's there's eastern/Central Oregon gun packin' conservatives,survivalists and then
theres western Oregon anti-gun liberals.sooo......depending where she lives will dictate how and when you pack

I too live in Ridgefield, James61.. We should get together! How about this weekend? Maybe go up and camp, play with knives and guns, cook meat on a fire?? Sound good?

Good move, man...Oregon is easily in my top three favourite states! (I haven't been to Alaska or Florida...but I've been to all the others.) Like a lot of the Western Coastal states/province, there is an enormous variety of topography...plus good gun laws in Oregon as mentioned!

And the coast is gorgeous, as are the mountains, as are the plains of eastern Oregon.

You really can't go wrong with that place!
 
Gene will miss you here, but may see you there...I lived in Salem for awhile and have friends in Beaverton...Brett
