  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

OT: Fiddlebacks & Firearms

Very nice!! I will have to get a pic up as well. I have a Ugartechea model 30. Unfortunately I sold my Merkel 16 gauge last year to help fund of our condo renovation. That was my pride and joy.
Please do get some pics up. Unfortunate about the Merkel, I'd like one of those as well. I'll try and get some better pictures this weekend

An old cell phone pic of the Merkel.

Had to go back 9 pages in the forum to find and resurrect this thread. Unacceptable.

The prize pistol in my collection, a Browning Hi-Power. First handgun I ever fired, summer camp, 1970. I was nine years old. Loved it ever since.
My old school Fiddleback Arete. Spalted maple scales, scandi grind. Flea Market snag.
My favorite book. Rereading it...again.
And the best cigar in my box.

Clearly going to be a very productive Sunday afternoon.

Really nice! What Is the wood on the Baer Custom? Looks like mesquite but I'm not sure.

Thanks. The grips on the Baer are from maker Esmerelda. They are called Rosewood Picazo. You can search for her site by typing "grips by Esmerelda". She does EXTREMELY good work. They certainly aren't cheap. But nothing worth having is. Anybody checking out these pics owes it to themselves to go check out her site. If you are not in the market for a new set of grips now, you will be before you leave her site.

There we go. Got this thread rolling again.

And I've purchased from Esmeralda before. She makes some truly magnificent grips.
