OT: horn tooting

Congrats Dan. I told you that one day we could all say, "Why we knew Dan Koster when he couldn't sharpen a convex edge.";) :p ;) :D

I knew Dan Koster when Yvsa taught him how to sharpen a convex edge.

I knew munk when Yvsa taught him to sharpen a convex edge.

Reckon I'm going to have to break down and buy me a geenyouwine Dan Koster knife before you go and get all famous on us. :D

Sarge

Sarge,

One thing I can guan-damn-tee you is if you get a knife from Dan, it will have the most wicked edge you have ever seen.

Seems like on a lot of customs the edge is an afterthought. I mean either it won't really be sharp at all, or maybe about the middle third will shave.

On the blade I have that Dan ground for me, every millimeter will shave and it has the most unbelieveable edge you have ever seen. For sure if you get one from Dan it will really be made to cut

Dan,

Congrads and bring back plenty of wine! ;)

So do I! I often wonder what the neighbors think it is :D

LOL...I thought *I* was the ony one weird enough to blow a conch shell. The neighborhood kids love it.

Of course, they like listening to me play my flute too.

Congrats Dan...and I honestly *pity* the guy doing the sharpening demo.

OK. So do I need to bring a conch shell to the Reno Konvention to 'officially', open it?

I dropped the e off of conch. is that right? Do I capitalize Spring? I did already- in the book.

in Hawaii, the Hawaiians would blow a conch shell (sometimes more than one, in different keys(?) at the same time) to the four directions as part of special ceremonies. I fell in love with the sound, and it brings me back to the islands whenever I blow it.

Of course I also blow it on the 4th===just to make some noise ;)

Congrats & have a great time, Dan.

And I second HD on this one:

I like Danny's Mini-Katana-Steak-Knife idea....:p

I'll place an order if you think it's doable.
Let me draw something up and Ill send you a skect of what I was thinking about.

Nice Shot Dan!

BTW~ A buddy asked me this when I first moved to SF...

He asked..."You know what to do if you drop your wallet in San Francisco?"

I said.."What?" and he says, "Kick it to Oakland."

and then he laughed like hell...

Good luck...happy anniversary...

On a more serious note....the ABS has decided to eliminate all cutting competitions..! :grumpy: :( The liability is too much for them to handle - so they say.

Very sad indeed! :(

You're in very distinguished company, Dan, and I'll bet you will fit in with them all very well. Have a "Jadu" ;) show, and best wishes for you and your family! Above all, don't look back... :D

Anyone else get a sudden mental image of underground cutting competitions in the basements of bars?

"The first rule of Cut Club is that we don't talk about Cut Club."
